Netflix officially announced that the horror and sci-fi drama Sweet Home 3 will be released on July 19, 2024, on the American streaming platform. The OTT platform revealed the news through their social media handle on Instagram, @netflixkcontent, on June 11, 2024, accompanied by a teaser poster, and captioned their post as:
"THE FINAL SEASON. SWEET HOME 3 is coming on July 19. Only on Netflix."

According to a press release shared by Netflix, the plot of Sweet Home 3 is as follows:
"The line between monster and human blurs with each passing moment, and humanity grapples with the emergency of neo-humans in a world on the brink of annihilation, marking the climax of the monsterization saga."
Song Kang radiates a monster's vibe in the latest teaser poster for Sweet Home 3
Adapted from the webtoon of the same name, created by Kim Carnby and Hwang Young-chan, the apocalyptic series Sweet Home season 1 recorded over 2.1 billion net views and was released on December 18, 2020. Meanwhile, season 2 was released on December 1, 2023. The series concluded with a cliffhanger, leaving viewers anticipating season 3.
Sweet Home season 1 followed the journey of Cha Hyun-su (played by Song Kang), who was the sole survivor after his entire family got killed in an unfortunate accident. He moved to the Green Home apartment, and subsequently, the city was destroyed by horrendous monsters and creatures. Hyun-su also got corrupted and had monster-like symptoms, where he got the ability to transform himself into a monster with wings. With the help of other residents of the Green Home apartment, Hyun-su embarked on a journey to eradicate the strange creatures.
Meanwhile, season 2 followed the survivors of the Green Home apartment setting foot into the destroyed world, where they tried to find shelter. Simultaneously, scientists and military personnel continued to find a cure for the disease spreading among mankind.
Sweet Home 3 would pick up the story where season 2 concluded and showcase what happened to the monster who has overtaken the body of Hyun-su and the sudden revival of Lee Do-hyun's character, Lee Eun-hyeok, who emerged from cocoons, and other twists.
In the teaser poster shared for Sweet Home 3, Song Kang was spotted standing amidst a ruined city, radiating the vibe of a monster. One of his hands was transformed into huge wings, while the other was in his pants pocket. Donning a black suit, the actor carried an intense expression as if something unfortunate was about to occur and cocoons were hanging upon him. Behind the actor, multiple helicopters were flying above collapsing buildings and other urban structures.
The upcoming season features Lee Jin-uk, Lee Do-hyun, Lee Si-young, Ko Min-si, Jinyoung, Yoo Oh-seong, and Kim Moo-yeol, who will continue to showcase what will happen to their respective characters by the end of the series.
The K-drama community is excited to see the return of Lee Do-hyun in Sweet Home 3 and how he will reunite with his sister, Ko Min-si, in the upcoming series. Sweet Home premieres its third season on July 19.
