The Influencer is a recent social survival reality show released by Netflix Korea. The show gathered around 77 South Korean social media influencers across various platforms such as Afreeca TV, TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. The show was created by Lee Jae-seok, who was intrigued by social media culture.

Therefore, the show revolves around pitting these 77 contestants against each other to garner the most social media attention. Some of the participants included the former Physical 100 contestants Shim Euddeum and Jun Tarzan, and beauty content creator Risabae. BTS J-hope's sister, Mejiwoo, was also seen participating in The Influencer.

It involves a series of tasks to see the extent to which the contestants would go for social media. This included the contestants creating never-before-thought ideas to garner attention on their social media platforms. Some of the controversial things that unfolded during the show included the female participants dancing provocatively and posting pictures in extremely revealing clothing.

After a series of tasks and disses between the 77 social media influencers, OKING took the crown. However, the winner was also recently found embroiled in a controversy.

According to a report released by the Korean Economic Daily on May 30, it was revealed that he was found to be involved in a cryptocurrency fraud and was eventually admitted to a mental hospital.

Previously, it was revealed that Winnerz, a Korean blockchain sports platform, was accused of issuing fake cryptocurrency, gathering investments, and not paying its investors back. OKING was reported to be one of the company's directors.

According to the report, he also continued to express that he fell victim to Winnerz's cryptocurrency scam and is currently suing the company. After three months in the mental hospital, the YouTuber returned with a broadcast, but he was heavily criticized by the netizens.
