Who is BCD? All you need to know as ARMYs celebrate the return of one of the biggest chart accounts on X ahead of BTS’ 2025 comeback

On January 1, 2025, one of BTS' biggest chart accounts, known as BCD, returned to X after an almost two-year sabbatical. The username @btschartsdata tweeted on the first day of 2025, uploading a GIF with the message “BTS YEAR,” referring to the boy band's reunion this year after they complete their military duty. As of now, his tweet has garnered more than 4.5 million views.

For those unaware, BCD, aka @btschartdata, is a popular informational thread about BTS. This page was started by one of the ARMYs, but it had been the blueprint of several major fan projects, including STATIONHEAD, which were celebrated by other fans across the globe. X's BCD account has over 2.5 million followers as of this writing.

ARMYs soon noticed the comeback of the renowned fanpage that ultimately delighted them. Consequently, the boy band fans celebrated the return of BCD by pouring praise on the internet for the page and its admin. To express their appreciation, several ARMYs tweeted:

“BCD IS BACK,” a fan wrote.

“The King has returned! Welcome back! You’ve been missed!!,” a fan commented.

“Welcome back to the lovely happy chaos that is us! I hope you had wonderful adventures and a great hiatus! Happy New Year too,” commented an admirer.

Some said BCD's impact is "self-explanatory," others compared it to Marvel's Iron Man.

“2025 barely started and so many big army accounts already coming back,” a follower commented.

“His impact on army twt is self explanatory when the entire tl is celebrating his return... WELCOME BACK KING. LETS MAKE 2025 COMEBACK THE BIGGEST EVER,” stated another person.

BTS’ chart account BCD launched several fan projects in the past

BCD is a chart account managed by a dedicated ARMY. In the past, BCD created the structure for many fan projects, including games and websites.

Back in 2021, BCD, for the first time, introduced STATIONHEAD to ARMYs and other fandoms. Several artists, including Kim Seokjin, hold their listening parties on the platform.

BCD also made a cosmetic website to promote Jimin’s debut solo album, FACE, released in March 2023. The account also made the Google form ranking a trend, which was even shared by BIGHIT Music’s social media account. Another fan project of BCD includes a BTS heardle/wordle game for ARMYs, which was reportedly copied by other fandoms.

Before going on a hiatus, BCD gave fans a special website to check the boy band’s progress on various streaming platforms. The website also allowed fans to auto-generate their own playlists.

Currently, five members, SUGA, Jungkook, Jimin, Taehyung, and RM, are fulfilling their mandatory training in the military. They are likely to complete their terms and reunite in June 2025.
