Who is Haruka Todoya? Fencing gold medalist Oh Sang-uk issues statement following alleged dating rumors

On Wednesday, September 4, Korean media Expoz News reported about Oh Sang-uk’s official stance on his dating rumors with Haruka Todoya. An official from Oh Sang-uk’s management agency Brion Company commented on these dating rumors to OSEN, saying,

"We have nothing to say regarding the rumors of Oh Sang-wook's relationship."

Haruka Todoya, who is reportedly dating fencing gold medalist Oh Sang-uk, was born in 2000. She studied as a ballerina at Russia's famous Bolshoi Ballet Academy. Presently, she is a professional model.

The rumors of romance between the two celebs began when, in recent broadcasts, they disclosed their ideal partner and wedding plans as if hinting at somebody. For those who don't know, both are following each other's accounts and exchanging "likes" and comments on social media.

Fencing gold winner Oh Sang-uk, 27, is reportedly dating Japanese model Haruka Todoya. After Oh Sang-uk spoke about his ideal type on the September 2 episode of the SBS variety show ‘Same Bed Different Dreams’ (hereinafter referred to as 'Dongsang Imong 2'), rumors started to swirl again. In the show, Sang-uk stated that instead of someone too feminine, he appreciates a female who is tall and cool. In the video, he said,

"I like tall and cool people. I prefer someone who is stylish rather than just pretty, and I like a girl with a girl-crush vibe rather than someone overly feminine."

The sportsman went on to say that he hoped his girlfriend would understand that he isn't the sort to be in her pocket all the time.

“I wish she would be understanding. I don’t really call my partner often. I don’t touch my phone. The people who I am with are more important to me than my girlfriend.”

Specifically, Koo Bon-gil, who has been observing Sang-uk for a decade, divulged some information during the show about his love sightings, which he had previously kept under wraps, saying,

"Sang-wook is in a relationship”
