On December 6, 2024, BLACKPINK's Rosé's highly anticipated music video for 'toxic till the end' was released. As soon as the music video was watched, there were speculations about the identity of the ex-lover featured in the video. The music video shows a complex, emotional relationship marked by both love and argument. In various interviews including her latest radio show with Apple Music, she revealed that the songs are inspired by some real-life experiences.

One name that surfaced among the fan theories was Jason Choi, a 32-year-old, well-known skateboarder and instructor from South Korea. Born on March 18, 1992, in Seoul, Jason Choi has made a name for himself in the skateboarding world, particularly for his teaching and expertise in the sport.

Jason had previously been associated with Rosé through her private social media account, where he had been mentioned. However, he has since clarified on Instagram that he is not Rosé’s ex and expressed his confusion over the rumors. He also asked fans to stop sending hate comments. He wrote in his Instagram story,

"Im not Black Pink Rose' ex Im a big fan though I don't know how I became her ex Im still confused. And please don't be rude, Thank you!"

Jason's YouTube channel, @jasonchoisskateboardstreet2868, has gained popularity for offering skateboarding tutorials, where he teaches various tricks, including the 360 flip, hard flip, and big flip. As a team rider, he is sponsored by brands like Timber Shop, Kadence Distribution, and ÉS Footwear.

More on BLACKPINK's Rosé and the speculations about her "ex" after the album and music video release

The connection stems from the fact that Rosé’s love interest (played by Evan Mock) in the video is portrayed as a skateboarder, which led fans to recall her interest in skateboarding during that time. In early 2022, Rosé posted photos of herself skating, which she later explained was a spontaneous decision to try out the sport.

This "skater era" sparked a lot of curiosity, and many began speculating that her ex-lover might be someone involved in the skateboarding community.

There were also speculations linking Jason Choi to Rosé due to their past interactions and the emerging clues surrounding their personal lives. On the day of the Gone singer's album release, Jason shared a photo of a red rose on his Instagram. This led to the speculations about a potential connection between the two.

While the mystery surrounding the identity of the "ex" remains unsolved, the theories linking Jason Choi to the singer have sparked a flurry of theories.

The BLACKPINK star released her solo album 'rosie' with 12 tracks. The track also includes her two pre-released, the global hit 'APT.' featuring Bruno Mars and 'number one girl'.

Her latest album is available on all major music streaming platforms, with the music video also streaming on YouTube.
