On November 13, BLACKPINK's Lisa gained online attention from fans across the globe for her appearance on the 31st Vanity Fair Hollywood front page. She was seen posing alongside big names including Zendaya, Nicole Kidman, and more.

However, she received backlash from netizens as the feature highlighted Hollywood actors who have showcased incredible performances through their works. On the other hand, netizens stated that it made no sense for Lisa to be on the 31st Vanity Fair Hollywood cover as she has yet to debut on the comedy series The White Lotus.

On November 13, in an interview with CBS Mornings, Vanity Fair Editor-in-Chief Radhika Jones revealed the real reason behind including a mix of A-list actors, up-and-coming stars, and yet-to-be-debuted stars on the cover this year.

“Yeah, that’s always interesting to us. So take someone like Lisa, who was a huge star in K-pop world, um, less well known in Hollywood or with a Hollywood audience, but she’s going to be on the White Lotus in the new season. And that, you know, people love that show. So this is our way of saying. Lisa’s incredibly famous, but we’re going to introduce her in a new context, and it’s nice to be able to create that mix,” she said.

BLACKPINK fans were relieved to hear Radhika Jones' reason behind featuring Lisa alongside renowned artists. They further criticized netizens who quickly judged the Thai singer's appearance on the Hollywood cover.

“who's the one "using her rumored bf" again????” one fan tweeted.
“These jealous freaks are delusional if they think their faves deserve to be there instead. They've been crying blood since yesterday but it doesn't change that she's the most relevant kpop artist,” a user stated.
"I will say it again ...lisa's karma always win and very fast," a user said.

Netizens criticized people who questioned Lisa's abilities before her acting debut.

“And will they apologize for the lies and insults directed at Lisa in the last two days? Of course not. Neither kpopies nor these self-proclaimed film critics,” a fan reacted.
“Antis found fuming after they’ve seen this lol. They love to throw hate without being able to understand,” a fan commented.
“To all the 'critics' out there questioning why Lisa is on that cover and downgrading her—this is for you: the Editor-in-Chief herself has already explained it. I hope you'll use your brains and understand,” a fan stated.
