On August 28, 2024, an infamous streamer, Shin Tae-il, was confused with NCT's Moon Taeil after the latter was confirmed to be involved in a crime related to a s*xual scandal. SM Entertainment officially announced through a social media post that NCT's former member Moon Taeil was under police investigation for a s*xual crime and hence departed from the group.

However, as the news broke, internet users confused NCT's Moon Taeil with the streamer Shin Tae-il. Many assumed that the streamer was involved in the s*xual crime and subsequently flooded his social media account with hateful and malicious comments.

Subsequently, the streamer took to his Instagram stories on August 28 and released a statement refuting that he was involved in the alleged crime, as translated by Koreaboo:

"Who is NCT's Taeil? People keep asking me if I committed a s*xual crime. It's not me f*ck."

Shin Tae-il has been infamous for his controversial content

According to Namuwiki, the streamer and video creator Shin Tae-il is also known as Lee Kun-hee or Lee Geon-hui. He was born on September 15, 1993, in Seoul, Seongdong-gu, Sageun-dong Hanyang University Hospital, South Korea. He completed his education at Seoul Sageun Elementary School, Incheon Seongji Elementary School, Middle School Graduation Academic qualification examination, and Incheon Hyosung High School.

According to Namuwiki, Shin Tae-il had a tough childhood and was allegedly abused by his stepmother, who was harsh to him and beat him frequently. He is known for illegal activities such as gambling.

The internet broadcaster worked at Afreeca TV and Facebook and created content through his official YouTube channel. He gained international fame and recognition after creating multiple outrageous and eccentric content. However, due to his provocative content, the streamer was suspended from all the platforms and was active on Instagram only.

The streamer debuted in 2012 through Afreeca TV and subsequently moved to Popcorn TV after getting banned from the former platform for obscene content. Later, he started using Facebook from 2015 to 2016, which could be considered his golden period of life as the platform transformed him into an influencer with domestic and international recognition. He garnered 1.152 million followers and emerged as the number one followed influencer on a personal Facebook account in South Korea.

He was also nicknamed by the fans as the President of Facebook. However, his account was later suspended due to the presence of self-harming videos. Later, he launched a YouTube account from 2016-2017, where he uploaded eccentric content and quickly gained over 850,000 subscribers by September 2017. According to Kim Yoon-tae, the streamer earned over 200 million won within one year after the launch of his personal YouTube account. He also opened a TikTik account, which met the same fate as his other social media handles.

However, his YouTube handle was soon suspended due to the violations of rules and regulations. Subsequently, he was removed from all the major platforms, which served as a source of income for Shin Tae-il.

In recent news, NCT ZONE has announced that they would halt the release of any content related to NCT's Moon Taeil.
