On October 7, 2024, the renowned media magazine The New Yorker unveiled a pictorial featuring Bang Si-hyuk and KATSEYE as part of their exclusive interview, titled The K-pop King, Chairman Bang, the man behind BTS, is bringing his formula for creating K-pop idols to America. The latest pictorial, featuring Bang Si-hyuk and the band, drew mixed reactions from internet users.
In the photoshoot, members Sophia, Manon, Daniela, Lara, Megan, and Yoonchae posed in different poses, while Bang Si-hyuk stood in the far corner of the studio, standing out apart from the female idols. Some users did not like the inclusion of Bang Si-hyuk and expressed disappointment. However, others disagreed with negative opinions, and naturally, an X user tweeted:
"People are like why is he here !! He invented them..that’s his group lmaoo I don’t like him but yall are so funny he on US doesn’t even care about this nonsense issue I m pretty sure lmaoo."
Netizens who did not like the latest pictorial suggested that since Bang Si-hyuk was standing at the edge of the room, they should crop him.
