Fans of ENHYPEN have united in outrage, trending the hashtag #LetEnhypenRest to demand a break for their beloved group. The outcry intensified on August 24, 2024, when BELIFT LAB announced that member Jay would be sitting out of the group's activities due to the flu. This news came amid their ongoing concert in Nagoya, Japan, where not only Jay but Jake also had to sit out, leaving the group to perform as a five-member unit.
The sight of only five out of seven members on stage alarmed fans, who realized that something was seriously wrong with the group's schedule. Fans noted that the energy levels of the remaining members during their performance were noticeably low, which they took as a sign that the boys were being pushed beyond their limits.
Since the release of their album ORANGE BLOOD in mid-2023, ENHYPEN has been on a relentless schedule, performing and touring worldwide without any significant breaks. This non-stop activity has left the members with little to no time to rest or recharge, leading to growing concerns among their fanbase.
The simultaneous absence of two members from a concert was the tipping point for fans, who decided it was time to raise their voices against the group's management. They are now demanding that ENHYPEN be given the rest they desperately need and deserve, hoping their collective outcry will lead to changes in the group's grueling schedule.
"I know we are all frustrated by what is happening right now, but let's continue to shout our hearts out for ENHYPEN's health. Let's make sure our voices are heard by Belift," a fan said.
"How many times does Jay or any member has to be sick for you to let them rest? Their schedule is inhumane. Please know that enha’s health will always be our priority. Let them rest," a fan stated.
"WE DON'T NEED MORE TOUR DATES WE DON'T NEED MORE COMEBACKS WE NEED ENHYPEN TO REST," a fan exclaimed.
Enraged fans had more and more words to say,
"They did 63 solo concerts in a span of 48 months, including award shows, festivals, fansigns, brand events, THIS IS INHUMANE!" a fan stated some facts.
"Please give my boys a break, they deserve this, they’re always put so much effort in their works and hardworking as well but this is getting out of hand boys are obviously exhausted some of members are sick but they still keep going on. THEY NEED A PROPER REST," another fan stated.
"When will BELIFT and HYBE realize no engenes want a concert with these conditions? its so upsetting and it breaks my heart not seeing them as 7," another fan said.
ENHYPEN members Jay and Jake miss out on the first day of Nagoya, Japan FATE PLUS concert, raising concerns
ENHYPEN are currently in the final leg of their FATE PLUS concert tour in Japan, which is set to conclude on September 1. This tour marks the culmination of an intense schedule that began with the release of their ORANGE BLOOD EP in November 2023.
Since then, the group has toured extensively, hitting destinations like Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, the USA, and Japan. However, despite the grueling pace and the release of two additional albums during this period, the members have had little to no time to rest.
The toll of this relentless schedule has begun to show, particularly during the August 24th concert when member Jay was forced to sit out due to health concerns. Fans were immediately alarmed by his absence, which was quickly followed by an official statement from BELIFT LAB:
"Hello, This is BELIFT LAB, We wish to inform you of ENHYPEN member Jay’s health and his upcoming engagements. Jay experienced a sudden fever while carrying out one of his schedules, prompting a visit to the hospital. Following a thorough medical examination, he was diagnosed with the flu."
The statement continued that the medical team advised him extensive rest despite Jay's strong desire to continue his schedule.
Fans have long been concerned about the group's continuous and rigorous schedule, and Jay's sudden illness seemed to confirm their fears. They had also noticed that member Jake had not been looking well for several days, appearing sleep-deprived and visibly struggling to stay awake during interviews and concerts. Their worries were further compounded when Jake, too, was absent from the August 24th performance, leaving ENHYPEN to perform as a five-member group.
This situation led fans to take action, launching the hashtag #LetEnhypenRest as a desperate plea to the company to give the members a much-needed break. They hope this message will reach the higher-ups at BELIFT LAB, urging them to prioritize the group's health and well-being.
On August 25, Jay took to Weverse to reassure fans, announcing that he was feeling better after resting and taking the necessary medications. While this provided some relief, fans remain steadfast in their demand that the entire group be allowed to rest after the FATE PLUS Japan tour concludes. They are determined to see their beloved ENHYPEN receive the time off they deserve.
