Will there be new episodes of Spice Up Our Love? No Gain No Love spinoff ending explained

Spice Up Our Love, starring Lee Sang-yi, Han Ji-hyun, and Lee You-jin, aired episodes 1 and 2 on Prime Video and TVING on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Spice Up Our Love is a spin-off to the tvN romance drama, No Gain No Love, which focuses on the second lead couple played by Han Ji-hyun and Lee Sang-yi.

The drama follows Nam Ja-yeon, a 19+ web novel author, who finds herself in one of her web novels, The CEO's Menu. She sees herself as the novel's female protagonist, Seo Yeon-seo, a nutritionist at GB Electronics.

Lee Sang-yi plays the role of Kang Ha-jun, the novel's male protagonist and the CEO of GB Electronics. Nam Ja-yeon is surprised to learn that Kang Ha-jun does not look like her muse and first love, Yeo Ha-jun (Lee You-jin).

The story gets interesting as she realizes that Kang Ha-jun resembles her anti-fan Bok Gyu-hyun (Lee Sang-yi). By the end of the drama, Nam Ja-yeon wakes up from a deep sleep at the hospital and sees Bok Gyu-hyun in front of her.

The drama served as the backstory from a scene in No Gain No Love episode 6, where Nam Ja-yeon realizes that she dreaming about being in her novel. The two episodes provided a closure to the story and did not leave any possibilities for further episodes. However, neither TVING nor Prime Video have confirmed anything about the new episodes.

In episode 1 of Spice Up Our Love, Seo Yeon-seo learned that her boyfriend Kim Do-gyeom was cheating on her. She blamed the CEO, Kang Ha-jun, for making her work overtime, which meant that she could not meet her boyfriend. Seo Yeon-seo bumps into Kang Ha-jun after having a one-night stand with him without knowing that he is the CEO.

In the second half of episode 1, Nam Ja-yeon finds out that Kang Ha-jun looks like Bok Gyu-hyun, a hater who makes malicious comments about her novel. She also learned that Kim Do-gyeom, Seo Yeon-seo’s ex-boyfriend and antagonist of the novel, looks like Yeo Ha-jun. Notably, Yeo Ha-jun is Nam Ja-yeon’s high school friend and Bok Gyu-hyun’s secretary in No Gain No Love.

Seo Yeon-seo, possessed by Nam Ja-yeon, was able to convince Kang Ha-jun that she is the author and they are in her novel The CEO's Menu. Since Nam Ja-yeon is an author whose main characters fall for each other no matter what, likewise, she also falls in love with Kang Ha-jun despite her hatred towards Bok Gyu-hyun.

Spice Up Our Love connection with No Gain No Love

In episode 6 of No Gain No Love, Nam Ja-yeon receives an apology letter from Bok Gyu-hyun. However, the letter infuriates Nam Ja-yeon, and she tells him to die. A few moments later, she saw him almost get hit by a truck and faint. Fortunately, Bok Gyu-hyun was alright and as he saw Nam Ja-yeon lying on the pavement, he rushed to check on her.

Bok Gyu-hyun took her to the hospital and at the hospital, Nam Ja-yeon had a deep sleep due to the shock and that's when she dreamt the story of Spice Up Our Love. After waking up, she was relieved that Bok Gyu-hyun was alive and realized that she had been dreaming all along.
