On Monday, October 14, BIGHIT Music released a statement regarding BTS' j-hope's upcoming military discharge. The K-pop idol, who enlisted in April 2023, is expected to be discharged from his mandatory military enlistment on October 17.
In light of the same, BIGHIT MUSIC not only announced his upcoming discharge but also informed fans about a few required rules and regulations regarding the same. Here's a part of their statement:
"Hello. This is BIGHIT MUSIC. We are excited to bring you the news of j-hope’s upcoming military discharge. j-hope is close to completing his active service in the army and will soon be discharged."
The agency announced that no special ceremony would be held around the idol's discharge. It is expected to be a personal gathering where only the discharge member and other close family and friends of the idol might join him. They advised fans not to visit the military base as it might create overcrowding and other issues.
On the other hand, fans weren't the only ones who were excited about BTS' j-hope's return to his K-pop idol activities. His fellow member, BTS' Jin, who was discharged from the military on June 12, also conveyed his happiness on the idol's discharge.
He took to his Weverse account and left a hilarious comment regarding BTS' j-hope's upcoming discharge. Here's what he said:
"jwehope you’re getting discharged? wow time really flies by. back in my day wow.. jwehopes discharge? wow.."
BIGHIT MUSIC says "no special events" for BTS' j-hope upcoming military discharge
On October 14, BIGHIT MUSIC officially announced the upcoming discharge of the BTS member, j-hope. The idol was second to enlist out of the seven-piece K-pop boy group, and he'll also be the second one to be discharged after completing his mandatory military enlistment.
Here's what the statement, in part, read:
"Discharge day is a day shared by many service members. No special events are planned on the day of j hope’s discharge. To prevent any issues arising from overcrowding, fans are strongly advised to refrain from visiting the site."
They concluded their statement with the following,
"Please convey your warm regards and encouragement in your hearts. We are always grateful for your unwavering love and support for j hope. Our company will continue to put our utmost effort into supporting our artists. Thank you once again for your continued love and support for BTS."
BTS' Jung Ho-seok was part of the Army A Division Recruit Training Center in Gangwon Province. He served as an assistant training instructor after completing mandatory military training in May 2023. However, after a year into his military enlistment, the idol received a promotion in the South Korean Military.
The idol was promoted to the rank of Seargent of the Camp Soldier Star in May 2024. The idol was initially expected to receive this promotion in July 2024. However, he received an early promotion, reportedly due to his outstanding and exemplary duty.
The K-pop idol will be discharged from the military within three days, and fans have been eagerly looking forward to the same.
