On June 26, BTS' V aka Kim Taehyung shared some unseen pictures from his upcoming photobook TYPE 1 on his Instagram stories. While one photo shared by the idol sees him playing games in a garden, the other captures him standing with shades on against the backdrop of the sea. In another image, he is seen looking over his shoulder and the fourth picture captures him in a red light.

Fans were also treated to a Weverse announcement that revealed that the pictures were part of a photobook and a magazine release. While other content from the shoot for TYPE 1 has not been unveiled yet, the pictures V shared went viral online and fans believed they would not be able to "survive this era of him."

Others also expressed that they were "obsessed" with the idol as they reacted to his images.

According to BigHit Music's (BTS' agency) Weverse notice, the photobook, which will release globally on July 9, contains moments of tranquility during which Kim Taehyung is at peace as he takes a break from his busy schedule. Described as "a collage of V's personal taste," the announcement further adds:
"This photobook captures V’s moments of complete rest, revealing his comfortable and natural self as he takes a break from his busy schedule to enjoy some time alone. V participated in every step of the planning and production, from selecting the travel destination to deciding on the title and the photobook’s components, culminating in a 224-page photobook packed with various moments he wishes to share with ARMY."
The announcement states that the photobook will help ARMYs (BTS fans) learn about the K-pop phenomenon in great depth with each chapter. The label also included never-before-seen snaps of Kim Taehyung, increasing the anticipation in the fandom.
In two separate notices posted on Weverse, BigHit Music revealed essential particulars about TYPE 1. The photobook contains 224 pages and TYPE 1 will include chapters that will not be available in the Magazine version. The Magazine version will have 152 pages and both products are printed with sustainable biodegradable soy ink, which is planet-friendly.
The TYPE 1 hardcover photobook version will release on ARMY Day (July 9), which is an annual celebration of BTS fans. Pre-orders begin on June 27 at 11 am KST. It will be available via Weverse Shop US on July 30, 2024, PDT, and at Weverse shop JAPAN & UNIVERSAL MUSIC JAPAN on July 26, 2024, KST.
The softcover/Magazine version will be retailed for Weverse shop GLOBAL customers from August 6, 2024, KST. Meanwhile, it will be available on Weverse Shop US on August 27, 2024, PDT, and on Weverse Shop JAPAN & UNIVERSAL MUSIC JAPAN on August 30, 2024, KST. Interested individuals can pre-order it on June 27 KST.
