The much awaited sci-fi Korean movie, Wonderland, is all set to be released on the global streaming platform, Netflix on the slated date of July 26, 2024. Fans are extremely excited for this particular movie due to the star-studded cast that it boasts.
The likes of Bae Suzy, Park Bo-gum, Tang Wei, Choi Woo-shik, and Jung Yu-mi will grace the screens of the audiences on the said date. A trailer of the movie was also released on the same day that gave the fans a glimpse of how the storyline will actually unfold.
Wonderland will release in theaters as well as on Netflix
Wonderland, directed by Kim Tae-yong, the movie delves into a virtual world where people can reunite with their loved ones through artificial intelligence. Ever since its anticipation surrounding it since the COVID-19 times, this Korean movie has finally received its confirmed release date and platform.
Initially, it was supposed to be released in the Korean theaters only, but as confirmed by Netflix on July 11, it is all set to be available for the small screens as well for the international audience.
Netflix posted Wonderland’s trailer on social media and captioned it with,
“When AI enables the grieving to talk to the lost, a flight attendant and a mother grapple with the meaning of reality and humanity.”
Earlier, the release date for this movie was announced to be June 5, 2024. However, it was postponed indefinitely due to unknown circumstances. Fans who had been waiting to see the starcast in their described roles, have been facing disappointment for more than a couple of years. However, due to the official release of the movie’s trailer on Netflix, they are now rejoicing that they will finally get a hold of it.
On April 23, the character posters of the movie were released by production company Acemaker Movie’s official Instagram page.
On May 31, 2024, a decorated premiere of Wonderland took place at the Megabox COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. This VIP event was hosted by the leads of the movie, Suzy and Bo-gum. A lot of big celebrities from the Korean entertainment canopy were invited to be a part of this event. Some of the names were SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi, S.Coups and Seungkwan, The Boyz, actors Gong Yoo, Yim Si-wan, Park Gyu-young, Park Ji-ah, Lee Hyeri, Kim Soo-hyun, etc.
The movie focuses on "Wonderland," a virtual program through which people get to experience interaction with those who have passed away. It draws a science-fiction line between virtuality and reality by encapsulating technology and raw human emotions. Park Bo-gum plays the role of Park Tae-joo, Bae Suzy plays Jeong-in, Choi Woo-shik plays Kim Hyun-soo and Tang Wei plays Bai Li.
