On December 19, BTS' Taehyung's recreated version of White Christmas was added to the This Is BTS playlist, almost fourteen days after its debut on December 6, 2024. The track was originally made by the late jazz musician Bing Crosby and is an over-60-year-old classic Christmas song.

The song's latest rendition, featuring BTS' V, was added to the group's Spotify playlist two weeks after its release, and the two-week delay appeared to upset Taehyung's fans, who expressed their dismay online. One user on X commented:

“Wow they finally woke up!! Should we give them a medal for doing their job? Maybe that way they will be less mediocre.”

Many other mixed reactions to Taehyung's White Christmas inclusion on the group's Spotify playlist were seen online. While some were cynical about the 14-day delay, others slammed BigHit Music and HYBE for their alleged unprofessional management of BTS' Taehyung's solo work.

“Only 14 days??? That's nothing compared to how long it took to get This is V playlist,” wrote a fan.
“14 days are so early,” said a fan satirically.
“This is so fast compared to making the This is V playlist!!!” added another supporter.
“BigHit / Hybe as a managing company has been acting so unprofessional with all of Taehyung's solo works! It's ridiculous,” stated an admirer.

While some called BigHit Music and Geffen Records "incompetent," others stated that this was a celebration of the “bare minimum” for BTS' Taehyung.

“Lol finally. Funny how they remember tae exists just after tracking week ends,” expressed a fan.
“2 weeks…14 days..SMFH! You are so incompetent when it comes to Taehyung @BIGHIT_MUSIC @GeffenRecords,” commented another supporter.
“The way we celebrate the bare minimum. bar is in h*ll for kths,” wrote a fan.

On November 6, 2024, BigHit Music announced the then-upcoming release of BTS' Taehyung’s remix song, along with a poster depicting Bing Crosby with V's pet dog, Yeontan. White Christmas was initially released in 1942 and is cherished globally by Christmas music enthusiasts.

BTS' Taehyung's White Christmas, a posthumous collaboration with the deceased vocalist, rapidly ascended to the pinnacle of the Worldwide and European iTunes charts, achieving the #1 position in 50 nations within hours after its release on December 6, 2024.

The project was facilitated by Primary Wave Music and the Bing Crosby Estate. They contacted Taehyung after observing his appreciation for Crosby’s music, which he has expressed in past interviews and social media posts.

Furthermore, Kim Taehyung conveyed his gratitude for the chance to reinterpret a composition by his favorite jazz artist. In a statement published in Billboard on December 8, the idol remarked:

“I’m so grateful to have had the chance to be featured in a song with my all-time favorite jazz artist, Bing Crosby. I grew up listening to his song ‘It’s Been a Long, Long Time’ countless times a day, and I feel incredibly fortunate and honored to have sung along on ‘White Christmas’ with the voice of someone I consider an idol.”

In other news, on December 13, the music video for White Christmas debuted at #1 on TIDAL's Daily Top Videos USA. With this recent achievement, BTS' Taehyung became the first K-act to have a song at #1 on the US daily chart.
