On August 20, 2024, BTS' Kim Seok-jin released the second episode of his variety show, RUN JIN, on the YouTube channel, BANGTANTV. In the latest episode, the BTS sensation visited his alma mater and interacted with high school students. As soon as he got out of his car, several students from other schools gathered outside Boseong Boys High School (aka Posung High School) and cheered for him.
The moment he entered his old high school, all the students gathered in the corridors and outside the classroom to cheer for the Epiphany singer-songwriter. Several boys kept shouting that the K-pop idol looked handsome. In response, the musician maintained his composure and simply replied, "Of course."
This further amused the BTS ARMY and they flooded X (formerly Twitter) by joking about the idol's nonchalant responses to the boys. One fan wrote,
"He’s so cute. WWH has a lot of fanboys. I love it."
Admirers highlighted how this episode must have added new male fans to the BTS fandom.
"I get them cause I would be on my knees if I were to see him this close," one fan wrote.
"His favorite word for today's video is "gurae"," one fan joked.
"Imagine the number of fanboys added to our fandom because of this excursion. Hahaha," another fan wrote.
Others praised the musician for his endearing behavior towards everyone in the latest RUN JIN episode 2.
"THE WAY HE ALWAYS AGREES WHEN HE’S CALLED HANDSOME. Don’t ever change Seokjinaaaaah," another fan added.
"JIN is the only person I accept who can boast anything without getting annoyed , telling his handsome his rich his great his awesome his perfect and I’ll be happy to hear," one other fan commented.
"THE Inventor of self love and self confidence way before it was a thing," another fan wrote.
RUN JIN episode 2 delivered fun and hilariously chaotic moments between the BTS idol and the high school boys
There were moments of chaos mixed with wholesome moments on the most recent episode of the audience-focused Korean variety program. In RUN JIN episode 2, Jin presented himself as a student as soon as he walked into a classroom, making light of the fact that he was the only one in his class who was 33 years old.
To further establish his supremacy in the class, he inquired who among the students in the "Grade 1-6" was the best fighter. This was a funny allusion to high school cultures throughout the world, where a new student would try to establish who was the alpha in the class and would often try to start a fight with the strongest student.
In RUN JIN episode 2, the other students joked and applauded for Jin, referring to him as the alpha, the BTS star arm wrestled with a handful of students to test whether he was the best of them all. Hilariously, Jin continued making jokes about losing to the strong lads in the class if he went up against them. Hence, he attempted to stay away from them throughout the arm wrestling game.
After having lunch with the students at the school canteen, Jin and the 26 boys from the Grade 1-6 moved to the PE classes at the gym, where Jin competed against them. They engaged in push-ups, planks, and the Chickenfoot, or Chicken Foot, game. BTS' Jin was victorious in the Chicken Foot game despite losing the Plank and Push-Up games.
The musician emerged victorious from their subsequent game of dodgeball. They concluded the program with a quiz and a game of catch. However, Jin lost both the final games, which made the student team of 26 boys win the overall tournament.
At the end of RUN JIN episode 2, the BTS star gave each student who had played the games 30,000 won in addition to pizza.
RUN JIN episode 3 will be aired on August 27, 2024, at 9 PM (KST).
