BTS’ Suga receives support from Filipino Broadway actress Lea Salonga on Instagram. On Monday, August 26, Lea Salonga shared a black and white photo of Suga on her official Instagram page with the caption:

“Always behind you, Yoongi.”

On August 6, the BTS member was booked for riding an electric scooter in a drunken state near Yongsan, Seoul. He was recently summoned to the police station for further investigation.

In the meantime, some South Korean media houses allegedly spread misinformation regarding the details of the incident and have admitted to the same followed by an official apology statement.

Due to this Suga has been subjected to hateful comments on social media. Ms. Lea Salonga replied to a fan's comment under her post sharing her thoughts on Suga's DUI case.

She said,

“To be totally fair, I get that there are laws in place and that he, on paper, broke them, never mind that no one was hurt. HOWEVER, it's the disproportionate judgment by haters and media that I take issue with. Already JBTC apologized for releasing false information, but you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube, now can you?”

Fans took to social media to voice their thoughts on Lea Salonga's support towards the D-DAY singer.

Netizens mentioned that the two Grammy-nominated singer is a BTS fan.

Netizens were emotional watching Suga receive support from Lea Salonga.

On August 23, Suga’s song Snooze re-entered Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart at No. 6. EL CAPITXN who is known to be a close friend of the BTS rapper and has contributed to his latest album as a producer, shared a picture of Snooze re-entering Billboard on his Instagram page.

Besides Lea Salonga, many other celebrities extended their support for BTS’ Suga on social media including Pachinko author Lee Min-jin, actress Alicia Hannah-Kim, Sohee Park, and more. Miu Sakamoto, daughter of Ryuichi Sakamoto who collaborated with Suga on the song Snooze also shared her support online.


Meanwhile, Suga is currently fulfilling his national duties as a part of the mandatory military service, he is expected to be discharged in 2025.
