On January 11, 2025, the former member of the pre-debut boy group Trainee A and BigHit trainee, JJ, delivered an energetic performance at SMTOWN Live. Also known as Justin Jay Takagi, he was part of SMTR25 SM Entertainment's 30th Tribute showcase. The male artist donned a white shirt paired with a blue jacket and black pants. He completed his outlook with a few accessories.

Subsequently, the rookie artist impressed the K-pop Community with his smooth dance moves, accompanied by his vocals and visuals. Multiple videos and photos of the K-pop idol circulated on social media. Many fans demanded SM Entertainment to make Justin's debut happen as soon as possible. An X user commented:

Justin Jay Takagi, was born on January 27, 2006, in Hyogo, Japan. The 18-year-old artist is a Japanese-American trainee under SM Entertainment. He is an ex-member of the Trainee A and Japanese boy band, AMEZARI -RED STARS.

From 2015 to 2022, the rookie idol was a member of team AMEZARI -RED STARS. The band featured Osaka trainee students from EBiDAN through Stardust Promotion. They dropped three albums, followed by a single. Subsequently, he became part of Trainee A from 2021 to 2022. Later, he joined Pledis Entertainment from 2022 to 2023.


Justin Jay Takagi was confirmed as a trainee of SM Entertainment on 2025 SMTOWN Live.
