BTS’ agency BIGHIT MUSIC is under fire for sharing an article written by South Korean journalist Lee Seon-myeong regarding the group members' solo music success. On September 30, BIGHIT MUSIC shared a link to the article by Lee Seon-myeong on X creating a huge buzz as fans were not happy with the post.

According to the netizens, Sports KyungHyang journalist Lee Seon-myeong has allegedly spread malicious rumors regarding BTS through his stories and has published biased stories cornering the group. The fans claimed that they reported the journalist as well as his published stories to BIGHIT MUSIC however, the agency seemingly did not take any further action.

The anger among fans rose after the recent X post by the agency as they believe that BIGHIT MUSIC and its parent company HYBE LABELS do not pay attention to the reports made by fans. Fans took to social media to voice their thoughts about the agency's alleged lack of effort in protecting the rights of BTS.

“You failed to protect your artist,” said a fan.
"Lee Seonmyeong is a notorious reporter known for his biased journalism towards BTS, and we have been emailing you to take action against him for months. Please don't share any articles written by him as we will not be giving any clicks or reactions to him." commented a fan.
"What’s the point of us dragging incompetent & unprofessional kmedia if at the end of the day it’s bighit/hybe that shares articles from the EXACT reporter who spread malicious rumors about bts," commented another fan.

Fans further expressed their disappointment in BIGHIT MUSIC for disregarding their complaints concerning the journalist.

"Are you fv*king kidding me? So y’all won’t even check who wrote the article now?? The same person abt whom we were reporting to Bighit all these days?" wrote a fan.
"And so they want us to send reports for that new option they gave us lol when literally @BIGHIT_MUSIC doesn't give a fck about what we say and their artists especially yoongi, we could notice it during all this time where they didn't do a sht for him," wrote a user on X.
"Are you seriously reading our complaints or is your email/website just for showoff? Is this how you protect your artists? No wonder why there is no single lawsuit filed against them bcz BH never checked our reports and complaints." said another user.

Fans also expressed their anger that their reports and complaints went unheard and accused the agency of not protecting their artists.

"What the heck is wrong with hybe/bighit??? I can't believe this, this company is built from BTS hardwork but they are not protecting the world stars." commented a fan.
"Whoever is in charge of the BH X account is terrible. Either they don’t post, or they post like it’s such a huge favor to everyone and then still end up like this…" said another fan.
"This just proves that they don't read or care about our reports. I wouldn't be surprised if all of the "we're taking legal action" statements are also false." said a user.

BIGHIT MUSIC shares update on legal actions against anti-fans spreading malicious rumors and defamatory information online about BTS

On September 30, BIGHIT MUSIC issued a notice on Weverse informing fans about the updates on the ongoing legal proceedings against misinformation, and defamatory and malicious posts against BTS online. The agency stated that they have gathered evidence reported by fans from online platforms like instiz, FMKorea, and more.

They have also identified users from NAVER, Nate Pann, FMKorea, and more who made malicious posts and were sentenced to fines by the prosecutors. BIGHIT MUSIC also updated fans regarding their lawsuit against YouTuber Sojang (who ran Taldeok Camp) on the charges of defamation, for which the first trial has begun. They are also taking follow-up measures and coordinating with the investigative agencies so that the perpetrators are punished rightfully.

They said,

“We will continue collecting, reporting, and taking legal action against malicious posts targeting BTS members, who are currently fulfilling their mandatory military service. Our legal efforts will persist throughout this period, and we will take firm measures against offenders. There will be no leniency or settlements under any circumstances.”

BIGHIT MUSIC urged fans to report such ill-intended posts violating BTS’ rights at the HYBE Artist Rights Infringement Report System (website: protect.hybecorp.com).
