On Friday, October 11, BTS' Jin released the extended version of his hit single Super Tuna via various streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music. Its music video was also released on the official YouTube channel BANGTANTV. Subsequently, the original Super Tuna, released in December 2021, was removed from BTS' Jin's Spotify profile, after the release of the latest version.
Ahead of the release of Super Tuna (extended version), the singer came live on the Korean social media platform Weverse on October 10, to celebrate Jimin’s birthday (October 13) in advance. During his stream, BTS' Jin announced the release of the upcoming track. Furthermore, he stated that he was going to remove the original song. As reported by X user @bt212008, Kim Seok-jin said:
“At first, I have to change the single on the sites, and some sites let you change and some don't, but I said just delete the old and lets start from 0! And I asked can't we just delete? And some said it would be heartbreaking so we'll be switching the single <to the longer version>. And the sites where you can't upload a new version, we'll delete and upload a new version.”
Soon, BTS' Jin's fans realized the original song had been taken down on Spotify. As a result of this, they inundated the internet with mixed responses. Expressing their sentiment, one user on X wrote,
“You will always be missed… goodbye.”
While some appeared disheartened, others believed Jin was serious about the removal of the original Super Tuna track.
“This man wasn’t joking yesterday at all,” a fan expressed.
“WAIT DID THEY JUST DELETED OG SUPER TUNA FROM SEOKJIN’S SPOTIFY PROFILE???” commented an admirer.
“Me who thought it was that green wifi app glitching,” a user remarked.
One individual remarked that fans should respect Jin's wishes, while another fan drew a comparison between the singer's actions and those of his bandmate Jungkook, who deleted his Instagram account with nearly 53 million followers.
“Sad but this was something jin himself asked for. We respect his wishes,” commented one X user.
“He said this on his live and it happened… OG Super Tuna you were ahead of your time,” said another fan.
“Jungkook deleting his instagram with 52 million followers and seokjin deleting his song with 136 million streams like that’s how you know they are here just for the music and fans,” another admirer wrote.
BTS' Jin used his solo Super Tuna for RUN JIN intro

The show premiered on August 13 on the official YouTube channel of BTS, BANGTANTV. For the intro of his series, BTS' Jin used Super Tuna's tune.
