BTS Jimin's new album MUSE is his quest for finding true love
Within 8 hours of release, the music video for the album's title track, WHO, gained over 6.3 million views. Choi Yong-seok directed the 3-minute and 28-second film which opens with Jimin as a flaneur, walking through a nighttime neon streetlight district.
Jimin dons a black leather jacket over a gray shirt and loose jeans to channel 90's punk rock in the video. He controls the streets while showcasing his dance skills amidst several dancers. The song has upbeat rock rhythms and sets the tone of yearning to find his soulmate. With every note, the singer expresses his wish to meet the one.
Meanwhile, SLOW DANCE (feat. Sofia Carson) is a romantic duet between the two artists about taking their time with their relationship. The R&B slow-pop song is befitting of its title as music is interweaved with saxophone tune, synthesizer, and rhythmic clapping beats.
Be Mine is an upbeat track with African percussion beats and a vibrating tempo with a Spanish twist. The GRAMMY-nominated South Korean musician sings about his desire to make someone his betrothed. His high octave tones are used as the silhouette for the song, setting the mood for the celebration of love.
In other news, MUSE reached No. 1 on the UK iTunes Album Chart on July 19, 2024, within an hour of its release. He became the first and only K-pop artist to achieve this feat in 2024 and chart multiple albums on the list—both MUSE and FACE.
The song, WHO, reached No. 1 on the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart across 100 countries within 10 hours of its drop.
