On September 27, 2024, ZEROBASEONE announced that they will be releasing a new opening theme song, Only One Story, for the new chapter of the TV anime Pokémon Horizon's Rayquaza Rising arc. According to the group, the latest track was selected as the new opening theme for the anime.

According to the website, Only One Story is the band's first original Japanese track released in about seven months. The track was described as a refreshing and cheerful song that intends to encourage the people embarking on an adventure, conveying to them 'Everything Will be alright.' It should be noted that this is the first collaboration of ZEROBASEONE with Pokémon.

ZEROBASEONE's Only One Story would follow the worldview of the anime as the protagonists embark on a new journey

According to the official website, ZEROBASEONE'S Only One Story closely follows the worldview of Pokémon's latest chapter, Rayquaza Rising, where the main protagonists, Liko and Roy, embark on their new journey. The track would resonate with Liko and Roy's unique story and courage to move forward with friends and Pokémon.

Meanwhile, ZEROBASEONE has also left comments about their latest tie-up with the Pokémon anime. They stated that Pokémon was one of their favorite anime which they had watched since childhood, and wanted to be in charge of singing an opening theme for the show. The members also mentioned that they were elated to be doing this.

The nine-member group has also explained the chorus of the track Only One Story through the website and added:

"The chorus of Only One Story is very catchy, and I think it's a melody that you won't be able to get out of your head once you hear it. In particular, the last line of the chorus contains the memorable lyrics, 'No matter how many times I cry, you'll be okay,' so be sure to pay attention to it. It's a fun song that everyone can sing and dance to, so be sure to enjoy it along with the anime!"

For those unversed, ZEROBASEONE is a nine-member group featuring Kim Ji-woong, Zhang Hao, Seok Matthew, Sung Han-bin, Kim Tae-rae, Ricky, Park Gun-wook, Kim Gyu-vin, and Han Yu-jin. They were formed through Mnet's survival reality program Boys Planet and are currently managed by the agency WakeOne.

The band debuted on July 10, 2023, with their extended play (EP), Youth in the Shade, featuring six tracks, through WakeOne. The songs include Back to Zerobase, In Bloom, New Kidz on the Block, And I, Our Season, and Always (Zhang Hao solo). The group released their fourth extended play, Cinema Paradise, on August 26, 2024, and featured seven songs, including Good So Bad as the leading single.

ZEROBASEONE's track Only One Story will be digitally released on October 11, 2024. The Pokémon anime broadcasts every Friday at 6:55 pm local time on TV Tokyo.
