The storyline of Face Me takes a dramatic turn in episode 10, where it's revealed that Jeong-woo’s childhood friend, Han Woo-jin, played by Lee Yi-kyung, is the true culprit behind the accident. However, the reveal fell flat for many viewers who had already predicted the twist, feeling that the killer's identity was too obvious.

After watching Lee Yi-kyung in Marry My Husband, many fans quickly predicted his role as the villain in Face Me. The internet has been buzzing, with some viewers criticizing the casting choice for making the plot too predictable. One viewer has written,

"literally everyone was doubting him from day one. Next time pick another actor and make it difficult to predict. #FaceMeEp10 #FaceMe"

Fans' reactions to Face Me have been a mix of disappointment and frustration, with many taking to social media to voice their opinions on the predictable plot twists.

"If they find evidence that WooJin is actually the real killer & all my sh*tty assumptions from ep 1 are true, I will be so insanely p*ssed. I didn't spend this whole drama praying for an interesting twist only to find out the brother/bestfriend is the murderer" another viewer has posted on X.
"I knew he was the k!||er right from episode 6! 🤣 Why cast him in a drama like this when his character had no plot from the very beginning?" has remarked an X user.
"Casting Lee Yi-kyung as Woo-jin was the biggest clue for the identity of the murderer. His acting was too good for a character that had nothing going on. I would love to see him in more of a lighthearted/romance drama to rethink him anything other than a villain in the future," a netizen has shared.

However, there are also audience who have praised the drama despite its predictable plot twists.

"I think all of us knew that he's the killer but I doubted the director for a moment when he kept saying he was home alone, still I'd say for a KBS drama this is progress, the plot is interesting" says this individual on X.

While Lee Min-ki’s performance as the victim Jeong-woo and Lee Yi-kyung’s portrayal of the antagonist have been praised, fans are calling for more unpredictable storytelling in future K-Dramas.

The consensus is that the drama, Face Me's predictability diminished the suspense, even though the acting was strong.

"We need him (Lee Yi-kyung) to take on more villain roles; the way his expression changes when his true nature is revealed is fantastic! I was wondering why the other Director was alone in the room with him, unaware that he was also a bad guy." a fan has written about Lee Yi-kyung' performance.
"the way jungwoo’s anger has always been the quiet, controlled type where his face goes stony, eyes cold and sharp but once he lets it out, you can sense the danger & darkness lurking within him from miles away. oh lee minki, the PHENOMENAL actor that you are" another fan has praised Lee Min-ki.
"the reveal of the perpetrator’s identity was too predictable tbh BUT credit still goes to the writer for skillfully casting doubt on the characters and keeping viewers guessing. on top of that, #leeminki and #leeyikyung delivered a performance like no other!" one netizen has commented on X.

Face Me (Korean: 페이스 미) is an ongoing South Korean medical drama series starring Lee Min-ki, Han Ji-hyun, Lee Yi-kyung, and Jeon Bae-soo. The series follows a cold-hearted plastic surgeon and a passionate violent crimes detective who unexpectedly form a complex relationship.

Face Me has premiered on KBS2 on November 6, 2024, airing every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:50 pm KST. It is also available for streaming on Viki in selected regions.

Cha Jeong-woo, a former emergency medicine doctor, lost his lover in a mysterious incident. This tragedy led him to shift from being an honorable doctor to a renowned plastic surgeon.

With his exceptional anatomical knowledge and precise hands, Jeong-woo rises to fame in the plastic surgery industry. He is flawless in his work but lacks emotional communication with his patients.

Despite his cold demeanor, Jeong-woo accidentally becomes involved in a case handled by detective Lee Min-hyung. Min-hyung is deeply invested in the victim’s well-being.

Jeong-woo’s perfect career starts to crumble when a patient he refuses for surgery leaves a suicide note blaming him.

As a result, Jeong-woo’s reputation takes a hit. To redeem himself, he begins a “reconstruction plastic surgery of crime victims” initiative, supported by the hospital director. This leads to tension between Jeong-woo and Min-hyung, who is responsible for the victims' cases.
