No Gain No Love, starring Shin Min-ah, Kim Young-dae, Lee Sang-yi, Han Ji-hyun, and more, aired episodes 1 and 2 on August 26 and 27, respectively, on tvN. No Gain No Love is about a woman, Son Hae-young, played by Shin Min-ah, who does not like losing her money in any circumstances.
Meanwhile, Kim Young-dae plays the role of Kim Ji-uk, a part-timer at a convenience store in No Gain No Love. He is known for his angel-like, kind, and helping personality. Ji-uk always looks out for people who need help except for Son Hae-young, as he is not fond of her. Kim Ji-uk somehow was convinced by Son Hae-young into a fake marriage as she didn't want to lose any money.
In No Gain No Love, Lee Sang-yi plays Bok Gyu-hyun, a third-generation chaebol who doesn't believe in love and is against marriage. Meanwhile, Han Ji-hyun portrays Nam Ja-yeon, a web novel writer whose expertise is love and romance.

No Gain No Love episodes 1-2 recap: Shin Min-ah and Kim Young-dae go from enemies to fake couple
In episode 1 of No Gain No Love, Son Hae-young's childhood was depicted. She had to share her mother's love with others growing up, as her mother ran a foster home. So she grew up to be someone who does not take losses, especially with money.
In another scene, she attends her ex-boyfriend and current co-worker Ahn Woo-jae's (Go Wook) wedding, who is marrying HR Kwon Yi-lin (Jeon Hye-won). She appears hesitant about the congratulatory money.
A few minutes later, Son Hae-young finds out that Ahn Woo-jae was two-timing her and Kwon Yi-lin, but she is unable to do anything about it; she even caught the bouquet. Meanwhile, Kim Ji-uk goes for a job interview he does not want to take because his professor asked him to.
Kim Ji-uk gets mistaken for an orphan, but he reveals that he was raised by his grandmother. He is an angel for the people around him; he cannot look away when someone needs help except for one person, Son Hae-young. He seems to dislike her for an unknown reason.
Later at work, Son Hae-young confronts Ahn Woo-jae and asks him to return the congratulatory money. She tells him that she would tell Kwon Yi-lin about their past. Ahn Woo-jae avoids paying her back by kneeling on the ground, stating that Kwon Yi-lin handles their finances and he lives off of the monthly salary. Ahn Woo-jae tells her the only way for her to get the money was to get married; he would give her the congratulatory money.
On the other hand, being an erotic romance author, Nam Ja-yeon (Han Ji-hyun) receives hate online for a new chapter, but she has one fan leave a supportive comment. That fan turns out to be Seon Jeong-a (Lee Il-hwa), the mother of Bok Gyu-hyun (Lee Sang-yi), a third-generation chaebol who runs an education company.
Bok Gyu-hyun's father Park Ki-Ho (Choi Jin-ho) wants him to get married, so he gives him an option either to get the company to the top position in the country for maximum revenue or get married in one year. Bok Gyu-hyun takes his secretary’s advice and creates a contest that would eventually increase competitiveness among the employees and raise revenue.
Meanwhile, Son Hae-young finds out that married employees receive maximum incentives, and since she is single, she is losing out on a lot, and the contest became a chance for her early promotion. But the promotion requires her to be married. By the end of episode 1 of No Gain No Love, Son Hae-young gets drunk at the convenience store where Kim Ji-uk works and asks him to become her groom.
In episode 2 of No Gain No Love, Son Hae-young starts preparing for her fake wedding to get as much money as she can. Meanwhile, Kim Ji-uk visits his grandmother, who has an illness due to smoking. So he does not want to marry someone who smokes.
The second time, Son Hae-young asks Kim Ji-uk again to be her part-time groom, and he reveals why he didn't like her. It is because of her calculative behavior towards her exes. He observed her since he worked at the same convenience store for over 6 years.
He also shares he wanted to marry someone kind and modest. The third time he rejected her, believing she has withdrawal syndrome from smoking cigarettes and that she should just keep smoking instead.
At work, she gets into an altercation with Ahn Woo-jae again, as he submitted the same idea as Son Hae-young for the contest. Son Hae-young asks him to withdraw it as it was her original idea, but he gets cheeky, saying that he would tell people that Son Hae-young is getting clingy as she is not able to accept their breakup. As she does not have a comeback, she says this would not happen because she's getting married in a month.
Watching Son Hae-young get serious about her fake wedding, her friend Cha Hee-seong (Joo Min-kyung) becomes angry as she is against it. They get into a serious argument, and Cha Hee-seong leaves the house. Notably, both Nam Ja-yeon and Cha Hee-seong were foster kids of Son Hae-young’s mother, Lee Eun-ok (Yoon Bok-in).
Cha Hee-seong found out about Lee Eun-ok's dementia, which Son Hae-young hid from her as she did not want her to get hurt. They patched up, but Cha Hee-seong was still against the wedding. Son Hae-young claims that even if it was fake, she wants to hold her wedding while her mother can still attend it.
While passing the convenience store, Cha Hee-seong and Nam Ja-yeon talk about how Son Hae-young wanted her mother to be there at her wedding. Kim Ji-uk happens to hear their conversation.
The next day, Kim Ji-uk agrees to work as the part-time groom of Son Hae-young in exchange for a temporary place for his cat at her house. By the end of the second episode of No Gain No Love, at the wedding dress store, Son Hae-young sees Kim Ji-uk in the tuxedo and is shocked to see him as he is looking ethereal.
Kwon Yi-lin and Ahn Woo-jae, who were there to help their acquaintance, happened to see Kim Ji-uk. Kwon Yi-lin is also surprised by Kim Ji-uk’s beauty. It is yet to be seen what happens next on No Gain No Love.
