Perfect Family episode 7 recap: Is Su-yeon back?

Perfect Family premiered on KBS2 on August 14, 2024, captivating audiences with its intense suspense-filled plot. The drama airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:50 PM KST and can also be streamed on Viki and Viu in select regions.

Starring Kim Byung-chul, Yoon Se-ah, and Park Ju-hyun, and directed by Yukisada Isao, Perfect Family is based on a popular webtoon by Nyangpa and Joo Eun.

It revolves around Choi Jin-hyeok, his wife Ha Eun-ju, and their daughter Sun-hui, whose seemingly ideal lives are disrupted by a murder case. Sun-hui's friends, Gyeong-ho, Hyun-woo, and Su-yeon, also find themselves caught in the turmoil.

In Episode 7 of Perfect Family, as Hyun-woo is stabbed, Su-yeon is revealed to be alive and intending to end Sun-hui's life. Hyeon-min is shown to be lying to Sun-hui all this while.

Perfect Family episode 7 recap: Why is Su-yeon trying to kill Sun-hui?

In episode 7 of Perfect Family, the police show up at Jin-hyeok's house and take him due to the suspicion of kidnapping of Su-yeon. Detective Shin is still skeptical about the situation. He has sent Detective Lee to tail Hyun-woo. Meanwhile, Sun-hui worries that her call to Hyeon-min might be the reason for her father's arrest.

Hyun-woo is trying to meet up with Su-yeon, who he presumes is alive. Detective Shin shows up and takes him along for a meal and asks him why he left the voicemail on Su-yeon's phone. He asks Hyun-woo why he thinks Su-yeon tried to take Sun-hui's life.

Hyun-woo tells him that he saw Su-yeon that day but Detective Lee confirms that Su-yeon is dead and they are questioning the suspect at the moment. While on his way back, Hyun-woo is stabbed in front of the alley where he was supposed to meet Su-yeon.

At the police station, Detective Shin is questioning Jin-hyeok. When he asks why Su-yeon's blood was found in his car, he reveals that the car was stolen one day after Gyeong-ho's death. Not just the car, but the van he had rented was also stolen.

He reveals that he got a call from Jagwoon station. Someone had called the station to inform that they saw someone abandon the car and leave. As he got them back in good condition, he did not report the theft.

After being told it is urgent, Detective Shin Speaks to Detective Lee who informs him that Hyun-woo has been stabbed and that he claimed it to be Su-yeon who did so. Eun-ju comes to the police station to testify as an alibi.

Back at the house, someone is throwing stones at it. Sun-hui goes to check and finds Su-yeon. She hits Sun-hui's head and ties her to a chair. She pours gasoline all over the house and threatens to light it on fire since she believes that Sun-hui tried to kill her.

Sun-hui, however, is clueless. She asks Su-yeon what happened to her after Gyeong-ho's death which infuriates her even further.

Hyeon-min arrives at the scene and Su-yeon, unaware of who he is, asks him to stay away unless he wants Sun-hui to get stabbed. After visiting Hyun-woo in the hospital, Detective Shin and Sun-hui's parents rush to the house and find it burning. Detective Lee is severely injured and Su-yeon is lying on the grass. Sun-hui has been taken by Hyeon-min.

In a flashback, the incident is revealed. Hyeon-min lights a cigarette and drops it on the floor, lighting the house on fire. Shocked, Su-yeon unties Sun-hui and helps her out of the house. Hyeon-min follows them and forces Su-yeon to go back in.

Sun-hui tries to stop him but he pushes her away and she falls unconscious. Detective Lee arrives at the scene and Hyeon-min convinces him to help him move the victim. After this, he stabs him and shoots Su-yeon. Episode 7 of Perfect Family ends with glimpses of Hyun-woo with his family.
