Perfect Family premiered on KBS2 on August 14, 2024, quickly grabbing viewers' attention with its gripping, suspenseful storyline. The show airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9:50 PM KST, with streaming available on Viki and Viu in select regions.
Starring Kim Byung-chul, Yoon Se-ah, and Park Ju-hyun, and directed by Yukisada Isao, Perfect Family is adapted from a popular webtoon by Nyangpa and Joo Eun.
The plot of Perfect Family follows Choi Jin-hyeok, his wife Ha Eun-ju, and their daughter Sun-hui, whose perfect lives unravel after a murder case. Sun-hui's friends, Gyeong-ho, Hyun-woo, and Su-yeon, are also drawn into the chaos.
Episode 9 of Perfect Family clears out multiple confusions. Hyeon-min does not disclose the entire truth to Sun-hui, additionally claiming that her parents are not as innocent as they seem. As Hyeon-min's true colors are revealed, Jin-hyuk and Eun-ju are now in the clear.

Perfect Family episode 9 recap: How do Jin-hyuk and Eun-ju save Sun-hui?
The ninth episode of Perfect Family starts with Jin-hyuk and Eun-ju narrating their side of the story at the police station. After his release from prison, Hyeon-min came to visit them and asked for money in return for keeping quiet about being Sun-hui's biological father.
As he kept tailing Sun-hui, he witnessed her coming out of Gyeong-ho's house with blood all over her hands. When Eun-ju went to fetch Sun-hui's cellphone and notebook, he told her to leave it to him unless she wanted Sun-hui to be branded as a murderer.
He was the one who set fire to the house, killing the whole family. Even while things were getting worse, Eun-ju tried to keep her calm and act as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened.
After this, he started demanding more money for the service he provided. During this conversation, Su-yeon had come to the house looking for Sun-hui. They overheard the conversation between her & Sun-hui. Since Su-yeon was considered to be an accomplice, Hyeon-min decided to take care of things again and took Jin-hyuk's car keys.
While Jin-hyuk tried to oppose, he punched him in the stomach and left with the car. Eun-ju remembered that Hyeon-min had the same allergy as Sun-hui and had bought peanut powder to murder him but they did not carry it out.
As Detective Shin hears the story, they rush to the location where Sun-hui is being held captive. Meanwhile, they deploy snipers but due to obstacles, they cannot shoot him. Jin-hyuk tries to buy time and finally decides to go there himself to deal with the situation.
While Hyeon-min is telling Sun-hui that her parents are only using her, Jin-hyuk arrives with the money. Hyeon-min points his gun at Sun-hui's head and walks towards Jin-hyuk to take the money. But anger takes over and he changes his mind. Just then, the sniper succeeds in shooting Hyeon-min on his waist.
Sun-hui, now free walks towards Jin-hyuk but then goes back to Hyeon-min to look at his wound. At this opportunity, Hyeon-min grabs her again and goes to a corner. Sun-hui is concerned and seeing this, Hyeon-min is reminded of his happy days with her, when she was younger.
In this episode of Perfect Family, Jin-hyuk further gets into a brawl with Hyeon-min. They both end up falling into the sea. The police and Eun-ju reach, and Eun-ju hugs Sun-hui as they tear up.
In a flashback, Hyeon-min is shown taking Sun-hui to his mother's house. He yells at her and takes some money, leaving her there. He tries betting to make money faster but fails and resorts to crimes such as assault and robbery. After getting arrested, Jin-hyuk is assigned as his prosecutor.
Unexpectedly, Jin-hyuk's name used to be Hyeon-min as well. Jin-hyuk decides to let Hyeon-min go due to a lack of evidence but having found a rich target, Hyeon-min attacks him later.
In a glimpse of Detective Shin's life, viewers see him coming home. His son video calls him and tells him he misses him, and has felt lonely ever since he left. The detective bursts into tears.
However, their call is interrupted when his ex-wife comes and asks him to not contact their son again, since he is finally adjusting to their new life. She tells him that they are living their life happily and he can live his life the way he wants to.
The next episode of Perfect Family is scheduled to air on September 12.
