More about BLACKPINK's Rosé's debut solo studio album rosie and its title track
The album's title track, toxic till the end, delves into the complexities of a toxic yet addictive relationship. The BLACKPINK idol's lyrics capture the push-and-pull dynamic of love gone awry, as she reflected on the emotional highs and lows of a relationship that ultimately leads to mutual destruction.
Directed by Ramez Silyan, the accompanying music video further intensified the song’s narrative, portraying Rosé and her on-screen partner navigating the tumultuous stages of their relationship. The toxic till the end video, shot at the picturesque Old Westbury Gardens in New York, is a depiction of passion and conflict.
The male lead in the video is played by actor and model Evan Mock. Best known for his role in HBO Max’s Gossip Girl, Mock brought a brooding intensity to the music video, adding depth to its emotional core.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK's Rosé's album was released under The Black Label and Atlantic Records. The idol left YG Entertainment in December 2023 and signed with its affiliate, The Black Label, in June 2024 for her solo career. Furthermore, in September 2024, she signed a global solo deal with Atlantic Records, and in November, she signed a global administration deal with Warner Chappell Music.
