Red Swan is a romantic revenge drama written and produced by Choi Yoon-jung and Park Hong-kyun. It revolves around the complex relationship between a former golf star and her new bodyguard.

Rain portrays Seo Do-yoon, while Kim Ha-neul plays Oh Wan-soo. The remaining Red Swan cast includes Ki Eun-se, Yoon Je-moon, Jung Gyu-woon, and Seo Yi-sook. Red Swan premiered on July 3, 2024, and is available in selected regions on Disney+ Hotstar. The complete series consists of ten episodes.

With rising popularity, the chances of a Red Swan season 3 are high. However, it is to be noted that no official announcement has been made about renewal so far. It is yet to be seen if the creators or Disney Plus will decide to renew the series and give anticipating fans a second season of Red Swan.

In the last 2 episodes of Red Swan, it was found that Chairman Kim Duo left 18 trillion won for NOW Foundation. With Yong-min trying to ascend the Hwain Group throne and Do-yoon doing his best to find the culprit, the final two episodes answer the biggest question: who killed the Chairman?

Red Swan Episode 9-10 recap: Who gets to decide Hwain's future?

Episode 9: Who is Do-yoon suspicious of?

In the ninth episode of Red Swan, Do-yoon meets with the commissioner general. To bring charges against the offenders, the commissioner is primarily concerned with monitoring the influx of slush cash from Switzerland.

Meanwhile, Wan-soo and Yong-guk go to Switzerland to obtain funds left behind by the late Chairman Kim Duo. After returning to the Grand Palace, Do-yoon becomes suspicious of Lee-jin as he finds a few similarities between her and the killer and looks for proof.

Yong-guk, Mi-ran, and Yong-min meet after the journey. Yong-min wants to divide the money equally between the three. But Yong-guk maintains that the money belongs to the NOW Foundation. He charges Yong-min for not being a member of the family when Yong-min wants his portion of the money.

Mi-ran intends to use money laundering to help Yong-guk succeed Kim Duo as the leader of the Hwain Group. Moreover, Yong-guk brings up the murder of Kim Duo.

When Yong-min speaks with Sang-il, viewers find that Yongmin killed Kim Duo. A flashback shows Yongmin holding a bloodied gold bar and Kim Duo lying cold on the ground. In this episode of Red Swan, it is revealed that Sang-il had helped Yong-min cover up the murder.

Mi-ran schemes to use Hyun-soo for embezzlement, while Do-yoon warns Wan-soo and Hyun-soo about potential threats from Lee-jin, Yong-min, or Sang-il. Jun-hee knows that Yong-guk is his father but decides to stay with Tae-ra since she seems lonely.

Hyun-soo seeks a deal with Sang-il before handing over the ledgers, but Sang-il leaves with the ledgers without answering questions about the slush funds or Kim Duo’s death. Meanwhile, Yong-guk meets with Jun-hee.

Lee-jin then kills Hyunsoo, but Do-yoon arrives in time to call for help. Sang-il reports something to the prosecution, leading to Mi-ran receiving a summons.

Do-yoon has to break the news of Hyun-soo's death to Wan-soo and comforts her. Reporters begin to wonder if Do-yoon was involved in embezzlement after Sang-il publishes reports of an affair between him and Wan-soo. As Sang-il and Mi-ran share a drink, Mi-ran notices that Sang-il wants Yong-min to succeed Hwain, but she brushes it off.

Frustrated with Yongmin's financial decisions, his wife asks for a divorce, but Yongmin threatens to use evidence of her adultery as blackmail. Do-yoon receives a USB from Hyun-soo's wife during his burial, which he installs in Sang-il's safe with the intention of notifying the prosecution of the evidence and the 9th episode of Red Swan comes to an end.

Episode 10: Who kills Young-guk?

In the last episode of Red Swan, after a fight sequence with Lee-jin, Do-yoon with the help of all the evidence, gets her arrested for Hyun-soo's murder. Sang-il worries that the inquiry will point back to him now that Lee-jin is caught.

Sang-il meets Mi-ran and reveals that he was the one who carried the gold bar to Mi-ran and hid it after Yong-min killed Kim Duo. Mi-ran becomes enraged upon learning about Sang-il's scheme to have Yong-min gain control of the Hwain Group.

Now that Sang-il is free, he compels Mi-ran to decide whether to expose his actual identity to the world and accept responsibility for Wan-soo's murder or to let Yong-min go to jail for killing Kim Duo.

In the meantime, Yong-guk, who adores Wan-soo despite the fact that she does not share his sentiments, gives Tae-ra money in exchange for her leaving him alone. Ji-yeon, Yong-min's wife, requests a divorce, but Yongmin furiously tears up the paperwork and leaves.

When Yong-min gets to the Grand Palace, he is furious, tells the employees to leave, takes Yong-guk's gun, and goes to the main chamber. Before leaving, Byeon, the butler, tells Sang-il of Yong-min's actions.

Wan-soo leaves the house to go to the NOW Foundation without realizing that she is in danger. As Yong-guk walks into the main hall, Yong-min demands his portion of the inheritance from him while brandishing a firearm.

When Yong-guk finds Sang-il and Yong-min in the hallway, he humiliates them, which makes Mr. Han resolve to kill Yong-guk himself. As they battle, Yong-min shoots Yong-guk, killing him. Wan-soo rushes in hearing gunfire and seeing Yong-guk dead, hugs him.

Sang-il tells Yong-min to remove the CCTV footage, begins cleaning the rifle, and tries to frame Wan-soo for the murder. When the police show up there, Sang-il and Wan-soo have different stories to tell.

Do-yoon rushes to the Grand Palace upon hearing the news and learns the truth from Wan-soo. He catches Yong-min and preserves the evidence. The police find the USB inside Sang-il's safe, and the gunpowder test results come out positive for Yong-min. Wan-soo is cleared of any allegations and Yong-min is put behind bars.

Both Do-yoon and Wan-soo realize that Mr. Han has blackmailed Mi-ran into taking the fall for Hyun-soo's murder. Meanwhile, the board of directors votes Sang-il as CEO of Hwain Group, but Do-yoon has doubts about it.

Sang-il, who Do-yoon visits, offers him a bribe in exchange for bringing him the slush monies that were donated to the NOW Foundation. Thanks to the ledgers that he handed over to the prosecution, prosecutors show up there and Sang-il is taken into custody for the killings of Ju-hyuk and Hyun-soo.

When Mi-ran sees Yong-min after being freed, he informs her of the truth and cautions him not to put his confidence in Sang-il. When Yong-min tries to kill Sang-il in jail, the guards stop him. Mi-ran declared during a board meeting that the slush money would be distributed to society following Kim Duo's wishes via the NOW Foundation.

A year later, Do-yoon is still a police officer and Wan-soo is still involved in charitable work. In the ending scene of Red Swan, Do-yoon joins Wan-soo for a volunteer opportunity to support her cause as a NOW volunteer.

Will there be Red Swan season 2?

Red Swan ends on a good note with Wan-soo and Do-yoon reuniting. Most conflicts of the first season were dealt with in the season itself, not leaving many gaps for anything to be addressed in a new season.

However, fans expect another season where they can learn more about Wan-soo and Do-yoon's relationship. While it remains to be seen, Disney Hotstar has not confirmed a continuation of Red Swan yet.
