Sa-eon flirts with 406 as Hee-joo is jealous of herself in When the Phone Rings episode 7
In this scene from When the Phone Rings episode 7, (aired December 20 on MBC and later on Netflix), Hee-joo wakes up in her hospital room, but Sa-eon is nowhere to be found. His belongings—laptop, glasses, and coffee mug—are on the coffee table. Wondering where he has gone, she calls him.
Hee-joo wonders who that could be and realizes it's almost 10:00 pm and quickly figures out that Sa-eon is waiting for 406 to call. She calls him back from 406's phone.
Sa-eon answers, telling Hee-joo he was waiting for her call and is glad she reached out. Hee-joo asks why, and he explains that because of her, he was able to find Hee-joo. Hee-joo tries to tell him the truth, but Sa-eon interrupts her as he already knows she's 406.
He tells her instead, he knows a lot about her, like her age, being in her mid to late 20s. Hee-joo is stunned and asks how he knows. Sa-eon then asks if she's pretty, further surprising her.
"Why does it matter if the person threatening you is pretty or not?" she asks.
Sa-eon responds that he has a feeling she is. He says he enjoys talking to her on the phone as if nothing has happened. He finds it peaceful and nice. Hee-joo, irritated and shocked, reminds him that she almost died. Sa-eon doesn’t answer. Instead, he asks,
"What are you wearing right now? I can’t see you, so I want to imagine it."
Shocked, Hee-joo wonders why he would imagine her and calls him a lunatic in her mind. However, Sa-eon continues telling her,
"From what I imagine, you have a delicate frame to match your voice an a fiery personality to go with it. Well anyway, it's fun just imagining it."
Hee-joo, taken aback, accuses him of flirting, pointing out that he’s married. Sa-eon brushes it off, responding casually, that Hee-joo is likely asleep by now, making her call him a "jerk."
Contrary to their previous tense interactions, Sa-eon teases 406, with a faint smile tugging at his lips as he speaks to the woman he knows is his wife, however feigning ignorance of her identity. In this conversation, Sa-eon offers Hee-joo help in capturing the kidnapper. She then provides him with a description of the suspect.
