Episode 11 of Seoul Busters opens with Seo Min-seo (Park Se-wan) chasing a larceny suspect through the streets, eventually cornering him in a public restroom. Just as she apprehends the culprit, Jang Tan-sik (Lee Seung-woo) arrives to assist.
As they secure the arrest, Min-seo hears her name called and turns to see her ex-boyfriend—who is now dating her friend. They exchange awkward pleasantries over coffee while Tan-sik takes the criminal to the precinct.
During their conversation, Min-seo learns her ex is getting married to her friend. In a moment of pride, she tells him she's also seeing someone from work, although this is a lie. Later, memories of their time together flood her mind—one in particular, when she was still a rookie cop, stands out.
She had discovered he didn't have enough money to pay for their meal and secretly slipped some into his wallet.
Meanwhile, Mu Jung-ryeok (Park Ji-hwan) ends his current relationship, claiming he’s not built for love. Both he and Min-seo are left reflecting on their failed romances and are distracted.
Then in episode 11 of Seoul Busters, a new case lands on the team’s desk: a woman named Hye-bin was caught attempting to break into another woman’s house. During interrogation, Hye-bin reveals she believed the house belonged to her fiancé, a man she had met through a dating app.
However, the homeowner insists she lives alone. The team soon discovers that Hye-bin had been duped. She had lent a total of 400 million Korean won to this faceless man, borrowing from others to cover the sum.
As they discuss how someone could fall for such a scam. Mu Jung-ryeok remarks that love can cloud judgment—a sentiment Min-seo quietly agrees with. She shares that Hye-bin had video-called the scammer, but the video turns out to be a deepfake.
Forensics soon confirms it matches other scam cases in the system. Captain Dongbang Yu-bin (Kim Dong-wook), assigns Min-seo and Jung-ryeok to the case, saying Jung-ryeok’s experience with love makes him a fitting partner.
Later in the episode 11 of Seoul Busters, while Yu-bin works alone at home, indulging in chocolates his ex-girlfriend introduced him to. He thinks about her and their time together.
Min-seo heads to a rice soup restaurant. Jung-ryeok joins her, and they reminisce over drinks. They recall the first time they met, when Min-seo almost tased her ex after seeing him with her friend. Jung-ryeok had jumped in to stop her, and he ended up being tased instead.
Jung-ryeok shares the painful story of his failed engagement. His fiancée’s parents had called off the wedding after a shaman predicted he would end up homeless, leaving him heartbroken.
The next day, the team tracks the Hye-bin and scammer’s financial transactions, but the money has been withdrawn quickly from various ATMs. Surveillance footage reveals the scammer to be well-disguised.
But Yu-bin notices a small detail—a koala tattoo on the hand of the person withdrawing the cash. He also identifies a pattern in the withdrawals and plans a stakeout at likely ATMs. The stakeout fails miserably, as the team gets distracted by other things.
Meanwhile, at the end of episode 11 of Seoul Busters, the police chief introduces a TV producer interested in making a show about the dating scam case the team is handling. Along with the producer is Professor Sim, Yu-bin’s known academy instructor and a renowned suspect profiler.
Episode 12 of Seoul Busters, opens with Yu-bin introducing the team to the producer and Professor Sim. A recorded meeting is scheduled, making the team anxious and causing them to act awkwardly.
As the discussion begins, Sim and Yu-bin dive deep into theoretical strategies for the case. Their detailed analysis bores both the team and the producers, leaving everyone distracted and drowsy.
Later, Professor Sim gives Min-seo a ride home and reveals that Yu-bin had been in a serious relationship before almost getting married. He urges her to take care of Yu-bin, who, despite his tough exterior, is soft-hearted.
Then in the episode 12 of Seoul Busters, the team sets up a fake profile on the dating app, using Min-seo’s details to lure the scammer. The plan works, and the scammer asks for money after some conversation.
The team arranges a meeting, and when the time comes, the man with the koala tattoo on the hand shows up. Min-seo accidentally reveals her police identity, leading to a chase. She arrests the man, but he turns out to be just a part-timer in the scam operation.
With the trail running cold, Min-seo and Jung-ryeok go undercover as homeless people to investigate scammers who steal IDs. While on the streets, they run into the scammer. Also, at that moment, Jung-ryeok’s ex appears, and mistaking him for a real homeless person, leaves him money out of pity.
The scammers eventually take the undercover duo to a their office, where Jung-ryeok punching them, forces to give up information about the dating scammer.
Following the lead, the team tracks him to a wedding. The scammer, now marrying a wealthy woman for another con, attempts to flee but is caught and arrested.
As the team leaves the banquet hall, they run into Min-seo’s ex. He initially believes she’s there for his wedding, but upon learning she’s on duty, he invites the team to stay and eat. The team seizes the opportunity, ordering expensive food to drain the ex’s wallet.
Min-seo’s ex also inquires about the colleague she mentioned dating, but she changes the subject. However, the rest of the team, sensing the situation, decides to play along with her lie.
