On October 23, 2024, Disney+ released episodes 15 and 16 of Seoul Busters, a South Korean crime comedy. The show features Kim Dong-wook, Park Ji-hwan, Seo Hyun-woo, Park Se-wan, and Lee Seung-woo.
The script is written by Lee Young-chul and Lee Gwang-jae. Directed by Ahn Jong-yeon and Shin Joong-hoon, the series follows a struggling detective unit. After failing a critical case, they are reprimanded and assigned a new captain—a highly decorated officer with a PhD and an FBI offer. Under his guidance, the team begins solving high-profile cases.
In earlier episodes, the team’s dynamics evolved as their personalities and personal lives came into focus while handling various investigations. In episodes 15 and 16, the Seoul Busters squad uncovers a gambling ring, goes undercover as a gang, and arrests the criminals. Meanwhile, Yu-bin reflects on his personal relationships.

In episode 15 of Seoul Busters, Mu Jung-ryeok (Park Ji-hwan) and Jeong Jeong-hwan (Seo Hyun-woo) visit their usual restaurant for dinner. They discover a flashlight inside. Suspecting a robbery, they quietly enter and grab the man with the torch. It turns out to be Minsik, the owner's nephew, who is there to fix a fuse.
After clearing up the misunderstanding, the three share dinner, and the detectives notice scars on Minsik’s face. When questioned, Minsik tearfully admits he's caught in a cycle of online gambling losses and has taken a large private loan. Loan sharks have begun harassing him at work. Fearing for his life, he asks the detectives for help.
The squad takes the case, suspecting that a gang is behind illegal gambling. With help from the bank, they track the loan sharks' accounts and stake out ATMs. Captain Dongbang Yu-bin joins the stakeout, making some squad members uncomfortable with his presence.
However, as conversations unfold, Dongbang Yu-bin (Kim Dong-wook) surprises Jung-ryeok by sharing how much he’s learned from him. He also reassures Jang Tan-sik (Lee Seung-woo) that he made plenty of mistakes as a rookie too. Yu-bin encourages him, saying that with his energy and focus, he has the potential to become an excellent cop.
Moreover, Yu-bin tells Seo Min-seo (Park Se-wan) with a smile that he never feels bored when he's around her.
During the stakeout in this episode of Seoul Busters, they spot Hwang Young-hoon, a member of the 007 gang who is withdrawing money. The squad follows him to the gang’s hideout and apprehends the members. A comedic twist occurs when Tan-sik realizes the gang leader is his old classmate. After a humorous exchange, the gang leader confesses that they’ve buried the gambling proceeds on farmland.
Jung-ryeok and Yu-bin retrieve the hidden money, leading to another funny sequence. They also learn of a lawyer named Yoon, who organizes gangs under a mysterious “Master.” To lure him out, Yu-bin proposes that the squad go undercover as a gang. This episode ends with the squad gearing up for this mission.
In episode 16 of Seoul Busters, the squad disguises themselves as gang members with help from Min-seo’s sister, a makeup artist. They post intimidating photos with luxury items and cars to draw attention online. When lawyer Yoon doesn’t bite, they attend a gangsters' union gathering, extracting more information about him.
Under the guise of wanting to start an online gambling operation, they contact Yoon and are assigned a test task: beating up another gang. The squad reluctantly does it and arrests the gang members in secret, completing the task.
After this assignment, Yu-bin and the squad invite themselves to lawyer Yoon’s office under the pretense of discussing their online gambling venture. Once Yoon outlines his plan for them to start the operation, the squad swiftly arrests him and his associates, catching them red-handed.
However, the mastermind behind the operation remains elusive, only communicating with Yoon through timed messages. Yu-bin deduces from the message patterns that the "Master" is in the military. With the help of the military police, they arrest him.
By the end of this episode, all gangs involved are apprehended. Yu-bin offers leniency to whoever shares the most information, prompting confessions from the gang members.
A poignant scene follows in Seoul Busters when a mother of one of the gang members rushes to the police station. Her son brushes off the arrest, assuring her it’s no big deal and he’ll be out soon. Ignoring his dismissal, she asks tearfully how he could put her through all this and leaves the premises, heartbroken. Her words bring a heavy silence over the previously rowdy criminal gang members, who remain quiet with guilt.
The final scene of Seoul Busters episode 16 shows Yu-bin reflecting on Min-seo’s words as she suspects that her father attended her graduation, but lets her pride get in the way. He also recalls Professor Sim's discussion on the stalking and kidnapping case. These memories stir thoughts of his ex-girlfriend, leaving him deep in contemplation.
