SEVENTEEN kicked off the first day of their fan meeting in South Korea with a bang, performing multiple songs by the band and other K-pop artists. On Tuesday, July 23, the K-pop boy group held the fan meeting “SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND” at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
The group performed songs like Ready to Love, Dream (Korean Version), and 9-TEEN while also performing their latest unit songs like LALALI and Spell, among others. The group entertained fans with exciting games and also experienced a special project initiated by their fans “Carats”.
SEVENTEEN is known for doing a challenge where the members dance to a certain part of popular songs by other K-pop groups that they believe do not suit them, calling it an "unfitting" song performance.

Unfitting song performances were a penalty for the members who lost during the ZIP Game. On the first day of the CARAT LAND, members who lost were Jeonghan, Jun, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, and Vernon, who performed their respective unfitting songs.
Mingyu and Vernon, in particular, gained attention online for their dances on Sticky and Supernova, respectively. Fans look forward to seeing who will lose and do the challenge on the second day of the fan meeting.

CARAT LAND Special skit: Boarding House sitcom
SEVENTEEN released the skit for 2024 CARAT LAND through the VCR exclusively. The Boarding House sitcom revolved around Vernon (the main character) and an egg. All members live in a boarding house and take turns to look after the egg but end up cracking it and replacing it with new ones.
Vernon showcased his acting skills as the crying kid who gained attention from fans for crying passionately while lying on the ground. Fans have shared glimpses of the skit on social media platforms like X.
Unit performance swap
SEVENTEEN is made of three units: the Hip-hop unit includes S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon, and the vocal unit includes Jeonghan, Joshua, Woozi, DK, and Seungkwan. Meanwhile, the performance unit includes Jun, Hoshi, The8, and Dino.
The units recently dropped three songs, Spell, LALALI, and Cheers to youth, as a part of their album 17 IS RIGHT HERE. The Hip-hop unit performed Spell, which was originally sung by the performance unit. The vocal unit performed LALALI originally by the Hip-hop unit. The performance unit performed Cheers to youth, which was originally sung by the vocal unit.
Highlights from CARAT LAND Day 1
Besides the ZIP game, SEVENTEEN also played a new version of their famous game Insomnia-Zero, named Complaint-Grudge-Zero in CARAT LAND. The boy group divided themselves into two teams: the maknae line and the Hyung line.
The rules for Complaint-Grudge-Zero:
- The participants will not sulk or get angry.
- The participants will not try to find out who the speaker is.
- The participants will not go home mid-performance.
- The participants will not send long messages on KakaoTalk after the game is over.
One team stood on the floor above the other team where the former would say something to get a reaction out of the latter. However, they didn't know who was speaking as they used voice-changing mics.
SEVENTEEN will hold the second day of CARAT LAND at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
