Rosé's debut solo album Rosie, achieved global success

Rosé, the New Zealand-South Korean singer, released her debut solo album Rosie on December 6, 2024. The 12-track album marked her first solo release after leaving YG Entertainment and Interscope Records in 2023.

The artist co-wrote every song, with contributions from Bruno Mars, Carter Lang, and Omer Fedi. The album blended pop-punk, alternative pop, 1990s R&B, synthpop, and ballads, exploring themes of fame, heartbreak, and personal growth.

The lead single, Apt., a collaboration with Bruno Mars, was released on October 18, 2024. It topped the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. US charts for seven consecutive weeks and achieved a "perfect all-kill" in South Korea.

The song also entered the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart, making the K-pop idol the first K-pop female soloist to achieve this feat. Following singles Number One Girl and Toxic Till the End also supported the album’s release.

Rosie debuted at number three on the Billboard 200, becoming the highest-ranked album by a K-pop female soloist on the chart. It also charted in the top ten in countries like South Korea, Japan, Australia, and the UK.

In a Hot Ones interview, the Apt. singer explained that Rosie reflected on her past three to four years, capturing raw emotions and personal stories through the music.
