Single's Inferno 4 episode 5 recap: Wild cards shake things up as romance and tensions rise
Single's Inferno's episode 5 begins with the female participants heading to "Paradise," where they meet three male wild cards: Hong Seong-bo, An Jong-hoon, and Kwon Ki-ha. The women have the chance to engage in one-on-one speed-dating sessions with the wild cards. After the dates, an announcement reveals that only one of the three men will earn the opportunity to enter "Inferno."
During the dates, Bae Ji-yeon, Kim Hye-jin, and Chung You-jin bond with Kwon Ki-ha, finding common ground in their similar dating preferences and ideal types. Hong Seong-bo connects with Kim Min-seol and Kim A-rin, while An Jong-hoon sparks interest with Li Si-an, Chung You-jin, and Kim Hye-jin.
After the speed dating, the women vote, and An Jong-hoon emerges as the winner. He is then asked to select two women to join him in "Paradise," and he chooses Li Si-an and Kim Hye-jin.
Meanwhile, in this episode of Single's Inferno, on Inferno Island, the original male contestants share their concerns over the women leaving for Paradise. They speculate about the wild cards and wonder what the women might be doing. Suddenly, the mood shifts as a female wild card, Park Hae-lin, arrives at Inferno.
She describes herself as "cool, accountable, lovable, and sweet," though admitting that she gets nervous and clumsy around people she likes. She finds her height and unique body proportions her "charming point," and enjoys flirting when she sees the other person blushing and smiling because of it.
The six male contestants welcome Hae-lin, noting the change in atmosphere with her presence. They take pictures together, and Hae-lin expresses her happiness in being the only woman on "Inferno". She shares that she has two men in mind that she would like to get to know better.
Later, Yuk Jun-seo asks Jeong-su for his thoughts on Hae-lin. Jeong-su admits that Hae-lin is his top pick based on her looks and personality, noting that she reminds him of his ideal type. Jun-seo agrees, describing her as bright and beautiful like a celebrity. Both men believe she could be a game-changer on the show.
Hae-lin then goes on a date with Kim Jeong-su and Kook Dong-ho later in this episode of Single's Inferno. During her date with Jeong-su, she asks about his previous experiences in Paradise. Jeong-su initially describes his date as circumstantial, but later admits that he has gone because he has been interested in someone.
He reveals that one of the women he has gone to "Paradise" with has become a friend, while he has talked a lot with another, although she has a different vibe than Hae-lin. When asked about his feelings, Jeong-su says he is still getting to know everyone and hasn't decided on anyone yet, but he does describe Hae-lin as his "ideal type."
Hae-lin's next date with Kook Dong-ho reveals more about his approach in Single's Inferno. He describes himself as someone who seeks perfection both in his work and in relationships.
Hae-lin explains that she is the opposite, as she needs someone to balance her out, which is why she is drawn to him. Dong-ho admits that he has been focused on the game, but is now starting to approach it differently, even seeking advice from others.
Back in Paradise in this episode of Single's Inferno, Ahn Jong-hoon goes on a lunch date with Li Si-an. During this, he reveals that he is 32 years old and owns two restaurants in Apgujeong, one serving Japanese cuisine and the other offering Hong Kong-style food.
Jong-hoon expresses how short their conversation in speed dating has felt, admitting that he has been eager to talk to her during the speed dating session. In his interview later, he describes the date as awkward at first, but fun once they got to know each other.
Later, Ahn Jong-hoon goes on a date with Kim Hye-ji. He tells her that he has chosen her because he found her the most beautiful and shares that he initially thought she would be hard to approach, but now he feels more comfortable with her.
He recalls how she is the only one who has eaten the snacks during speed dating, which he finds adorable. In his interview, he describes the date as comfortable and engaging.
The next day in this episode of Single's Inferno, the remaining female participants return to Inferno, and the men welcome them back. They learn about Hae-lin's time in Paradise with Kim Jeong-su and Kook Dong-ho. Kim A-rin expresses her disappointment in not getting the chance to talk to Dong-ho.
Li Si-an and Kim Hye-jin return with Ahn Jong-hoon and are informed about Hae-lin's time with Jeong-su and Dong-ho in Paradise. Si-an expresses her concern in her interview, hoping that Jong-hoon doesn't ask her to apply face masks or massage his hands.
Later, the group enjoys time by the pool, where Li Si-an, Yuk Jun-seo, and Jang Tae-oh play in the water. Kim Min-seol sits by the pool, expressing annoyance in her interview about Jun-seo spending time with Si-an. Meanwhile, Ahn Jong-hoon and Kim Hye-ji share a tender moment, with him asking her to look at him as he takes her picture.
At dinner, Li Si-an serves rice to the group, and Tae-oh observes her giving Jun-seo larger portions. He then fills her bowl with ham, knowing she likes it. During the meal, Jun-seo gets up to organize kimchi for Si-an, while Ahn Jong-hoon passes Kim Hye-jin and her tissues, and Tae-oh pushes her water glass more toward her.
After dinner in this episode of Single's Inferno, Tae-oh and Li Si-an have a one-on-one conversation as they watch the sunset and enjoy drinks. Tae-oh puts his hoodie on Si-an, thinking she might be cold. They reflect on the previous day's events in "Paradise" and "Inferno", with Tae-oh admitting that he has missed her.
Si-an shares that the food in Paradise has tasted better when they have been together. Tae-oh then gives her a flower ring, explaining that he has made it from a flower he has found for her. He asks her to throw it away before heading back, but she refuses, noting that he made it for her because she has expressed a desire for a happy and romantic life on their date.
Meanwhile, Ban Ji-yeon and Kim Tae-hwan have a one-on-one conversation, where they discuss their past relationships. Ji-yeon asks Tae-hwan if he wears glasses, and when he confirms, she tells him she thinks he would look good in them.
Yuk Jun-seo and Kim Min-seol reminisce about their time in Paradise, recalling how comfortable they always felt with each other. However, the conversation is cut short when Min-seol asks if Jun-seo wants to talk to someone else. He responds that he does, and it is Li Si-an.
In another conversation in this episode of Single's Inferno, Li Si-an shares with Kim A-rin that she has started to like Tae-oh, appreciating his straightforward and genuine approach to their relationship. However, she also admits that her date with Jeong-su in "Paradise" has had a significant impact on her.
At this moment, Yuk Jun-seo approaches Si-an and asks to speak with her one-on-one. In their conversation, she asks if he has narrowed down his options as she is curious about who he is interested in. On this note, episode 5 of Single's Inferno ends.
Season 4 of Single's Inferno features 12 episodes, with the first six already available to stream on Netflix. The remaining episodes will be released in pairs each Tuesday.
