On Thursday, September 26, renowned K-pop group Stray Kids announced their upcoming American Music Awards 2024 performance via their social media page. The award ceremony will be a 50th Anniversary Special of the AMAs.
The event will last two hours and broadcast on CBS on Sunday, October 6, from 8 pm EST. Interested people can also stream the show on Paramount+. It's important to note that further details of the event are kept under cover as of this writing.
Mariah Carey, Stray Kids, Green Day, and more are set to take the stage at American Music Awards 2024
Dick Clark Productions and CBS have revealed nine artists scheduled to perform at the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special event on October 6. The initially announced lineup includes Mariah Carey, Stray Kids, Raye, Jennifer Hudson, Brad Paisley, Kane Brown, Green Day, Gladys Knight, and Chaka Khan.
The program will additionally encompass appearances from 17-time AMA winner Carrie Underwood. Former AMA hosts and singers Gloria Estefan and Jennifer Lopez will also be attending the event. Jimmy Kimmel, who hosted the AMAs five times (2003 to 2008), will also make an exclusive appearance.

Stray Kids, aka SKZ, is a South Korean boy band created by JYP Entertainment. The group was formed following the 2017 reality television program of the eponymous title.
The ensemble consists of eight members: Bang Chan, Lee Know, Hyunjin, Seungmin, Han, Felix, I.N., and Changbin. Former member Woojin departed from the group in October 2019 for unspecified personal reasons.
SKZ dropped their pre-debut extended play (EP) Mixtape in January 2018. Following this, they formally launched on March 25 with the EP I Am Not. Subsequently, the boy band put out two additional EPs in the I Am series, namely I Am Who and I Am You.
The K-pop group’s Clétrilogy EPs were released in 2019, comprising Clé 1: Miroh, Clé 2: Yellow Wood, and Clé: Levanter. The ensemble's inaugural studio album, Go Live, came out in 2020.
In 2020, SKZ made their Japanese launch with the compilation record SKZ2020. Then, in 2021, the band’s second studio album, Noeasy, was launched.
Over the years, Stray Kids has also impressed fans with their stage performances during many global award ceremonies, including MTV Video Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and more.
In November 2022, the K-pop boy band performed at MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards). Following this, in 2023, Stray Kids garnered fans' attention with their S-CLASS performances at Billboard Music Awards and MTV VMAs.
On July 18, 2024, all boy band members extended their respective agreements with JYP Entertainment. The group debuted under JYP Entertainment in 2018 with a seven-year deal lasting till 2025.
The boy group's most recent single, Chk Chk Boom, surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify on September 15, among other notable events. The title track from their 9th mini-album ATE was released on July 19, 2024.
