The Auditors aired its episodes 3 and 4 on July 14 and 15, 2024, respectively. The auditing team's resources and a fresh case at Shin Cha-il (Shin Ha-kyun) set the stage for the recap of The Auditors episode 3. The episode focuses on JU Construction's community outreach program, the Nanum Housing Renovation Project, which serves low-income households.
In episode 3 of The Auditors, Cha-il is fired by Hwang Dae-ung after 3.4 billion won is stolen. Episode 4 reveals that Hwang doesn't have the authority to fire Cha-il, granted by company President Hwang Se-ung.
By the end of the episode, Shin Cha-il uncovers the real culprits behind the embezzlement—Yoo Mi-Kyung and her husband—and they are arrested. Hwang Dae-ung's attempt to fire Cha-il fails, leaving him frustrated.

Did Shin Cha-il get fired by Hwang Dae-ung in The Auditors episode 3?
In episode 3, the auditing team interviews Yoo Mi-Kyung, the head of the housing division, who has given her approval for the project paperwork. The team learns that Yoo Mi-Kyung was Shin Cha-il's junior in college and suspects them of having a former romantic alliance.
Meanwhile, Shin Cha-il learns through the interview (investigation) that Mi-Kyung authorized the business plan for the housing project to help her department achieve its target goals. Shin Cha-il instructs his team to audit her financial records since he still suspects Mi-Kyung. Later, Shin Cha-il meets the victims and Han-soo and Seo-jin accompany him to find out the embezzled 3.4 billion won.
Mi-kyung and Shin Cha-il go to a pub where she avoids his interview questions by talking about her divorce. She admits she doesn't know the Union president well but mentions he called her about the project. Later, Cha-il takes her home, and she gets hurt while stumbling due to intoxication. Cha-il helps her inside.
Meanwhile, Go Han-soo and Seo-jin stalk Cha-il, curious about his connection with Mi-kyung. The next day, Cha-il is accused of sexually assaulting Mi-kyung after an anonymous tipster sends pictures of them outside her house to the company.
Hwang Dae-ung uses this opportunity to fire Shin Cha-il, however, the company president ignores Hwang and gives Cha-il a week to clear his name. Cha-il asks Han-soo and Seo-jin to go to the hospital and investigate Mi-kyung further. At the hospital, Mi-kyung reveals that her ex-husband blackmailed her to file a false report against Shin Cha-il.
Meanwhile, Shin Cha-il tries to recall the night he dropped Mi-kyung home. He remembers encountering Myung-chul, Mi-kyung's husband, on the way back. He deduces that the two were in cahoots as he recalled Myung-chul being on call with Mi-kyung while entering the building. Cha-il deduces from Myung-chul's outfit that the union president was a part of the embezzlement along with the two.
Cha-il, Han-soo, and Seo-jin track down the union president, who was hiding at a small mountain inn. They get him arrested by the police on charges of embezzlement and ask him to reveal his accomplices and the location of the money.
Meanwhile, Mi-kyung is getting ready to level for Florida when Shin Cha-il asks her to comply with the ongoing investigation. However, Hwang Dae-ung sends the company's deputy managing director to rescue her and drop her off at the airport. Shin Cha-il realizes that Mi-kyung is the culprit and her real plan is to move to Florida and start a new life with the embezzled money.
Hwang Dae-ung stops Shin Cha-il from pursuing Mi-kyung. However, Cha-il instructs his team member, Han-soo to stop Mi-kyung from leaving the company premise. Hwang Dae-ung laughs and fires Shin Cha-il and episode 3 of The Auditors ends there.
Did Shin Cha-il find the embezzled 3.4 billion won in The Auditors episode 4?
The Auditors episode 4 starts with the president of JU Construction, Hwang Se-ung is threatened by Hwang Dae-ung (his step-brother and company's vice president). Dae-ung tells him that he will halt the construction if Se-ung doesn't let him control the company's audit team and Shin Cha-il.
The president knows that Dae-ung won't halt the construction as he is contractually bound. Se-ung then tells his half-brother, Dae-ung, that he gets to supervise the audit team, however, firing Shin Cha-il is out of his jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, Shin Cha-il makes a bargain with Hwang Dae-ung in the interim. Cha-il tells Dae-ung that he will pay the 3.41 billion won and resign if he is unable to locate the funds. Dae-ung agrees and gives him three days to resign from his post.
Later, Han-soo and Seo-jin interrogate the employees of Myung-chul's (Mi-kyung's husband) construction company to track down the money since they suspect Myung-chul would conceal it through money laundering.
Meanwhile, in The Auditors episode 4, Cha-il tells his team in a meeting that Myung-chul has someone for his company's finance team to switch the laundered money with the company fund. They then used the bank transfers to pay their construction workers in cash for five days to avoid tax and further audit. Since the money has been switched, it is difficult to trace the stolen money through its serial numbers.
Han-soo discovers that Kang Myung-chul is having an affair with Lee Yeon-ji, who helped him launder stolen money. Han-soo and Seo-jin follow them to a hotel and take photos of them hugging. Shin Cha-il shows these photos to Mi-kyung, proving her husband's affair.
Cha-il then posts the photos anonymously on the company's forum to lure Myung-chul out. Myung-chul panics and leaves the office, with Han-soo and Seo-jin following him. They find where Myung-chul hid the money laundering documents, but he confronts them, leading to a fight with Han-soo.
Myung-chul leaves with the documents as Han-soo and Seo-jin chase him in their car. Shin Cha-il reaches the construction site where Myung-chul has hidden the cash. Myung-chul tells him that they have all been fooled as Mi-kyung has already changed the location of the stolen money.
At the end of The Auditors episode 4, Shin Cha-il stops Mi-kyung at the airport from leaving for Florida. They find the cash hidden in one of the cars parked at the airport's parking lot for several days. The police arrest Mi-kyung and she gets sentenced to prison along with Myung-chul and Lee Yeon-ji. Consequently, Cha-il didn't get fired from his job which infuriates Hwang Dae-ung.
The Auditors airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9.20 PM (KST) on tvN and Vidio. The show has 12 episodes and stars Shin Ha-kyun, Lee Jung-ha, Jin Goo, Hyeyeon, and Jung Moon-sung.
