The Boyfriend aired its final episode on Netflix on Tuesday, July 30. The Japanese dating show starred nine men, Kazuto, Usak, Ryota, Alan, Ikuo, Gensei, Shun, Taeheon, and Dai, who gathered together in search of love.

The show had simple rules and format. This included running a coffee truck and earning money to manage their expenses on the show. Every day a person would get a chance to run the coffee truck, which was named "Brewtiful U" by the cast members in the initial episodes of the reality show.

The person could pick one person to assist them for the day. This gave them a chance to know their crush better while spending a day at work. The participants worked in unity to reach a profit and planned the budget per day around the sales they made.

Following the coffee truck shifts, the two people would sit down and discuss their past relationship experience, family background, and more. The Boyfriend also allowed the members to go on private dates only if two people chose each other. The private date sessions took place only three times throughout the show.
