The Boyfriend also shows how they grow individually and form long-lasting friendships. Following the release of the second batch of episodes of The Boyfriend, Kazuto was revealed to be the most popular member of the Green Room.

Many men, including Alan, Usak, Ryota, and Taeheon, have shown their interest in him. Moreover, Ikuo, a new member, has made his entry, seemingly raising tension between Dai and Shun.

The Boyfriend Ep 4-6 recap: Kazuto receives a confession from three members while Dai and Shun's connection sees a new turn

According to episode 4 of The Boyfriend, Kazuto returned to the Green Room after being away for a few days due to his work. Kazuto picked Shun to lead the Coffee Truck Brewtiful U and revealed his interest in someone. Meanwhile, Shun also spoke to Kazuto about how his energy with Dai does not match up, as he believes Dai is hyperactive, energetic, and exhausting.

As they returned, Kazuto texted Alan, asking him to chat with him in person. As they met, Alan immediately opened up and conveyed his feelings to him. Kazuto also responded that he was interested in him, followed by a hug.

Watching Alan confess his feelings, Usak also mustered up his courage and told Kazuto that he had been interested in him from the beginning. Ryota had two rivals. Previously, he could not tell Shun that he liked him, but this time, he spoke to Kazuto and told him about his feelings.

In episode 5 of The Boyfriend, when the members were asked to pick someone to go on a date with, Kazuto and Alan were the only match. Surprisingly, Shun did not pick Dai and told him that they should stick to being friends.

Shun honestly told Dai that he did not think they were a good match due to the differences in their energies. Dai backed down, respected his feelings, and appreciated Shun's honesty.

Meanwhile, Kazuto and Alan went on a stay-over date, where the former felt that the latter took things a little too fast. Although they shared deep conversations about their family backgrounds, Kazuto had mixed feelings following his date. The next day, Usak had the chance to lead the coffee truck business, and he picked Kazuto as his partner.

Kazuto and Usak made great profits and sat on the beach to have a conversation. The latter shared that he was grateful to have the chance to lead the business with him. Moreover, while relaying his emotions towards Kazuto, Usak also revealed that this was his last day on the show.

Usak bid farewell to the members, making everyone emotional. Later, it was showcased that he had made an illustration of all eight members, including him. All the participants were thrilled to see their character versions made by Usak.

In Episode 6 of The Boyfriend, Gensei gets the chance to lead the coffee truck, and he chooses to go with Ryota. Previously, Gensei thought that Ryota sent him the letter in the first episode.

Since then, he thought that Ryota was into him; however, by this episode, he figured out that Ryota liked someone else. Gensei showed his interest in Ryota and also gifted him a neckpiece accessory.

As they returned, Gensei was convinced that he had conveyed his thoughts, but Ryota was confused about whether he liked him or not. Meanwhile, scenes in the Green Room were quite different from before, and Shun and Dai seemed to have gotten back together.

When The Boyfriend participants were sitting in the living room, Shun called Dai through and asked him to sit with him. Shun lay on Dai's lap but did not let him touch him.

Dai seemed confused by Shun's behavior, but the latter thought that after their conversation about staying friends, the former had maintained his distance from him. Shun believed that this time, they might work out together.

The next day, Ryota spoke to Gensei about his crush and even told him that he confessed his feelings to him. On the other hand, Taeheon picked Kazuto for that day's shift of running Brewtiful U.

They met Ikuo, the new member of the Green Room. Ikuo's arrival created curiosity among the members as he could have shown interest in any of them. The contestants were preparing a meal for their day-out picnic, and Ikuo was seen actively conversing with Dai while they made rice balls. Shun sat beside them and just observed.

When they went for the picnic, Dai and Ikuo opened up to each other due to their similar personalities. Ikuo shared about his ex-partner with Dai, and both of them agreed that they clicked.

While Gensei, Ryota, and Shun sat together, Shun stated that he was not worried about Ikuo as he knew Dai would pick him. As they observed Dai and Ikuo playing around them, Shun found Dai extremely annoying and stated that he didn't want to hear the voices.

Meanwhile, Kazuto finally shared his thoughts about Alan as they went up to the lighthouse. He stated that he was genuinely interested in Alan before their date, but now he sees him more as a friend. Alan also accepted his feelings and thanked him for being sincere.

As Dai came towards the shade, he glanced at Shun and told the members that he had come to take water. After closely watching the new member with Dai, Shun also felt like he would do better with Ikuo.

Anticipation is at an all-time high to see what happens between Shun, Dai, and Ikuo in The Boyfriend. Episodes 7 and 8 of The Boyfriend will be premiered in the next batch of releases on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.
