The Fiery Priest 2 episode 9, starring Kim Nam-gil, Honey Lee, BIBI, Kim Sung-kyun, and more, aired on December 6 on SBS. The latest episode showcased Kim Hae-il (Kim Nam-gil) being taken to the hospital after Kim Hong-shik's (Sung Joon) goon raided the seminary. The doctors informed Sister Kim, Father Han, and Dean Lee that Kim Hae-il had multiple sclerosis.
Besides this, Sister Lee also told Dean Lee that Kim Hae-il was a Bellator. This is because Dean Lee was concerned about why Kim Hae-il was going to lengths in this case. On the other hand, Park Kyung-sun was tased by Kim Ma-ri (Hwang Jung-min) before she could enter Nam Du-heon's (Seo Hyun-woo) hideout.
In the recent developments of The Fiery Priest 2, as Sister Kim and Father Han learned that Park Kyung-sun hid Kim Hae-il's illness from them, they were upset. Now, Park Kyung-sun had no other choice but to inform The Sweeper Gang about Kim Hae-il's medical condition as he was hospitalized.

The Fiery Priest 2 ep 9 recap: Nam Du-heon clashes with Kim Hong-shik while Kim Hae-il and Park Kyung-sun team up for another battle
In The Fiery Priest 2 episode 9, Nam Du-heon tries to get on the good side of the new Chief Prosecutor. However, he clashed with Kim Hong-shik because his goons attacked the seminary without keeping him in the loop.
Meanwhile, Rockfish was suspicious about The Sweeper Gang's real identity, and Boss Park could not make a difference, so he waited for Kim Hong-shik to decide what to do with them. When Kim Hong-shik came, he first killed Jellyfish for leading the goons to the seminary without informing him.
At the same time, he did not like uncertainties, so he told his goons to kill the members of the Sweeper Gang too. But, due to Capelin's story about Maksan's scar on the back. Gu Dae-young showed the scar on his back, and they were saved.
The Sweeper Gang realized that the story was made up, as only a very few people knew about the scar. With this, they found out that Capelin was a forgotten undercover agent from the Uma Narcotics Department. After receiving an update on Kim Hae-il's condition, The Sweeper Gang was about to leave the ship, but they stayed back after hearing a woman being tortured.
Later in The Fiery Priest 2 episode 9, that night Uma Chief Go Martha made a confession to Kim Hae-il at the hospital. She revealed being threatened by the drug cartels, and so she became a puppet in their game. However, she wanted to help him.
The next day Kim Hae-il left the hospital despite being stopped by Sister Kim and Father Han. He informed Chae Do-u that they were going on a new mission. He told him that they were joining the Citizen Watch Team while Go Martha dismissed the Violent Crime Team from working on drug cases. Go Martha was herself in charge of the narcotics cases moving forward.
The Violent Crime Team called Nam Du-heon for help, but he declined. Kim Hae-il, Chae Do-u, and Go Martha took down Jellyfish's ball boys, who sold drugs, as their first mission. Kim Hae-il also informed Park Kyung-sun about the abandoned gas station being Kim Hong-shik's explosion gas tank.
Later in The Fiery Priest 2 episode 9, Park Kyung-sun went on a date with Kim Hong-shik once again. She hinted that she planned to stay in Uma for a long time, which made Kim Hong-shik a bit concerned, as his final plan seemed to be destroying the city with his classic tactics.
On the other hand, the Sweeper Gang learned that the woman being tortured at the ship was an NIS agent. They informed the same thing to Kim Hae-il, who worried if it was his senior. His senior's bookstore was closed down, and he knew he could not deal with Kim Hong-shik and his goons alone. Kim Hae-il asked Park Kyung-sun to join him.
Ko Dok-sung/Gozaev had seen Kim Hae-il's leaderboard, and to help him, he ran his Russian contacts. With his contact, he was introduced to Boss Park, and Ko Dok-sung subtly told him about the explosives and bombs in the ship that could destroy a huge number of people.
Boss Park informed the same to Nam Du-heon, who thought Kim Hong-shik was a psychopath for this. Nam Du-heon contacted Interpol, telling them he had solid leads to catch Phukha (Kim Hong-shik) and that he would be able to catch him soon.
Gu Ja-young, aka the Shaman (BIBI), used her tricks and told the goons his shaman brother and sister needed to come to the ship. The Fiery Priest 2 episode 9 closed with the scene where Kim Hae-il, dressed as the shaman sister, and Park Kyung-sun as the shaman brother entered the ship.
According to MK Sports' December 6 article, The Fiery Priest 2 episode 10 is postponed and will not air on December 7, 2024. The rescheduled date is yet to be confirmed by SBS.
