The Frog, starring Kim Yun-seok, Go Min-si, Lee Jung-eun, and Yoon Kye-sang, premiered all eight episodes on Netflix on August 23. The Frog is set deep in the woods, where Kim Yun-seok's character, Jeon Yeong-ha, runs a vacation house.

Jeon Yeong-ha’s peaceful life is turned upside down as a mysterious customer, Yoo Seong-a, played by Go Min-si, rents the house for a day during the summer. Meanwhile, during the early 2000s, a man named Koo Sang-jun, played by Yoon Kye-sang, ran a motel in the same town. A horrific incident forced the motel out of business, leaving Koo Sang-jun with nothing.

On the other hand, Yoon Bo-min, played by Lee Jung-eun, is a police officer who began working at the substation near the motel, marking it as her first case. Twenty years later, she is posted at the same police department, becoming a pivotal connection between Jeon Yeong-ha and Koo Sang-jun’s story.

The Frog Ending Explained: Did Kim Yun-seok save his daughter from Go Min-si?

In Episode 7 of The Frog, Yoo Seong-a manipulated Jeon Yeong-ha to help her hide the body of another person she murdered in exchange for his daughter Jeon Ui-seon's (Roh Yoon-seo) location. As the two reached the lakeside, Yoo Seong-a revealed that she had put Jeon Ui-seon in the red suitcase. Jeon Yeong-ha was perplexed and asked her to open the suitcase herself.

As Yoo Seong-a opened the suitcase, it was empty, and Yoon Bo-min and her team surrounded the area to catch her. It was revealed that Jeon Yeong-ha and Yoon Bo-min worked together to find Jeon Ui-seon and planned to catch Yoo Seong-a red-handed.

In Episode 8 of The Frog, Yoon Bo-min arrested Yoo Seong-a without a warrant, and given that her father is an influential person, within a few hours, her lawyer arrived. Yoon Bo-min had no choice but to let Yoo Seong-a go.

On the other hand, Yoo Seong-a’s father gave her a last chance to go to Seoul, but she refused and stayed there. She moved to set the laundromat on fire before going back to Jeon Yeong-ha’s vacation house to get her passport.

The next day, Yoo Seong-a was left in shock as she was expecting her lawyer, but it was her ex-husband Ha Jae-sik (Jang Seung-jo) who held a rifle on her head. Yoo Seong-a admitted that she killed Ha Jae-sik’s son, Ha Si-hyeon (Jo Yeo-joon), in that vacation house. She further stated that she had hidden Ha Si-hyeon’s body, which Ha Jae-sik would never be able to reach if he killed her.

When Jeon Yeong-ha arrived, Yoo Seong-a told Ha Jae-sik that he was an accomplice in this crime, as he wiped away the evidence and did not report it to the police. When Yoo Seong-a killed Ha Si-hyeon and accidentally left some evidence at Jeon Yeong-ha's place, he was in denial that the incident happened.

Moreover, he got rid of the evidence to save his vacation house, believing that Ha Si-hyeon must be living well elsewhere. Jeon Yeong-ha came clean in front of Ha Jae-sik and got shot in his arm.

In the final episode of The Frog, Yoon Bo-min decided to find the other body Yoo Seong-a was planning to hide. She found her subordinate Kim Seon-tae's (Jo Eun-sol) body in the cornfield. Yoon Bo-min headed to Jeon Yeong-ha’s house to catch Yoo Seong-a and saw Ha Jae-sik with a rifle. She shot him in the leg to stop him from causing any further harm.

Later, she tried to convince Ha Jae-sik that she was trying to catch Yoo Seong-a and was going to find his son's body. Amidst the chaos, Jeon Yeong-ha tried to mediate the situation, and things got worse as Ha Jae-sik fell, losing the rifle to Yoo Seong-a. She tried to fire it; however, there were no bullets left. Yoon Bo-min failed to catch Yoo Seong-a as she escaped the house.

Possibilities of The Frog Season 2

In the final episode of The Frog, Ha Jae-sik left the house behind Yoo Seong-a, followed by Jeon Yeong-ha, who tried to stop him from shooting at her. However, it was of no use as Ha Jae-sik succeeded in shooting Yoo Seong-a, who fell into the pool and died.

It was Yoo Seong-a’s father who gave her whereabouts to Ha Jae-sik, and to bury the situation quickly, her father also helped Ha Jae-sik with a lawyer. Meanwhile, Jeon Yeong-ha also kept mum to protect someone, and Ha Jae-sik did not reveal where the rifle was from.

Previously, in Episode 7 of The Frog, Jeon Yeong-ha stole Koo Gi-ho's (EXO’s Chanyeol) rifle, who used the same rifle to kill Ji Hyang-cheol (Hong Ki-joon), who ruined his family due to the crime he committed at his father Koo Sang-jun's motel. Jeon Yeong-ha also did not reveal that Koo Gi-ho was behind Ji Hyang-cheol's murder at the hospital.

Furthermore, it was revealed that Jeon Yeong-ha’s daughter Jeon Ui-seon was pregnant, and Yoo Seong-a added a drug to her juice. Jeon Ui-seon was a pharmacist, so she did first aid as soon as she was out of the suitcase. She was able to save her child and herself with her prompt action.

By the end of The Frog, it was also shown that the vacation house had stopped the business; however, Jeon Yeong-ha and his close acquaintance gathered there sometimes. Koo Gi-ho also showed his interest in meeting Jeon Yeong-ha. The Frog ended on a positive note, so there seems to be no upcoming season for the show, and Netflix has confirmed nothing so far.
