Released on September 21, 2024, The Judge from Hell stars Park Shin-hye and Kim Jae-young in leading roles. Directed by Park Jin-pyo, known for Love Forecast and Closer to Heaven, and written by newcomer Cho I-su, the series blends fantasy and suspense.
The plot of The Judge from Hell centers on Kang Bit-na, an elite judge who secretly doubles as a demon, delivering justice by condemning the wicked to hell. She encounters Detective Han Da-on, a brilliant but emotionally troubled investigator. The Judge from Hell also boasts a talented supporting cast, including Kim In-kwon, Kim Hye-hwa, and Lee Joong-ok.
In episodes 7 and 8 of The Judge from Hell, Bit-na finds her next victim. However, she also finds herself experiencing feelings like a human would. Da-on goes through a difficult time, as he has to face his past again, as the killer of his parents comes back.
The Judge from Hell episodes 7-8 recap: What does Da-on do with the evidence he gets on Bit-na?
In episode 7 of The Judge from Hell, just as Jeong-im is about to get attacked, Myeong-suk and Man-do find her and drive the killer away. Jeong-im is taken to Nobong station to give her statement. She is able to remember the attacker's height and the design of his knife. So-yeong recognizes it to be the knife of serial killer J who murdered Da-on's parents but keeps it a secret from him.
While on her way back from work, Bit-na saves So-yeong's daughter Da-hui from a few bullies, and So-yeong thanks her for it. While Bit-na is annoyed that Da-on did not thank her, he goes to the grandma in the building. She tells him that she knew his deceased parents. As a duty to them, she tells him that if he keeps staying close to Bit-na, one of them will die.
Knowing Da-on is going on the trek with the building society, she decides to join. Here, Da-on reveals that his parents and sibling died in an accident. He believes that he caused it and hence, considers himself a murderer. Bit-na assures him that he is not one, and he has not killed anyone.
While drinking with his neighbors after the trek, Da-on starts conveying his feelings to Bit-na who shuts him up. She also drops him to his flat after he passes out. Since Bit-na is unwilling to hurt Da-on, A-rong gets suspicious of her having feelings.
KO Foods CEO Choi Won-joong, who has built a good public image, brutally murders the Union Chairman, Mr Won because of his protests. Since Mr Won had voice-recorded the entire meeting, Won-joong was accused of having murdered Mr Won.
Moreover, Won-joong had transferred a huge sum to Mr Won's account on the day he died. To save his son, Won-joong's father earns a favor from Assemblyman Jeong and has Bit-na become the judge for the case.
So-yeong goes to keep patrol in Hwangcheon Dong along with Donghun. She spots the serial killer, runs after him, and manages to corner him. As Donghun is waiting in the car, unaware, he meets Da-on and Bit-na. They hear a gunshot and run in its direction. There, Da-on finds So-yeong's stick and bloodstains on the ground.
In episode 8 of The Judge from Hell, when Da-on goes to visit So-yeong's family, her husband gives him a file with all the gathered information about J. A-rong finds out that Da-on is the only survivor who has seen the serial killer and conveys the same to Bit-na.
While the police search for So-yeong, Da-on and his team are ordered to focus on their respective cases. So-yeong's case is assigned to another team.
Won-joong pays off the only witness and he gives his statement against Mr Won in the court. Finding a way out, Bit-na lets Won-joong off with only one year of prison. Mr. Won's daughter, Yu-gyeong who is in critical condition is saved by an angel, who is revealed to be the neighborhood grandma.
Bit-na, carrying on with her plan, has Man-do call Won-joong and get him to the amusement park where he tortured Mr Won. While on her way, she is met by Da-on, who asks her if she is on her way to kill Won-joong. Bit-na offers to kill the serial killer, J but he refuses and hugs her, thanking her. Bit-na, startled, leaves.
After making him experience what he did to Mr. Won, Bit-na unleashes Hell's beasts on him. She beats him up and brands him to go to Gehenna. As she is walking back, Da-on appears and throws sulfur powder on her, taking away her powers for a few hours.
He had planted a tracker on her and had even recorded her. He gets a call about So-yeong. Having to leave, he handcuffs her to the Ferris wheel and leaves.
So-yeong is found dead. In a flashback, it is shown that So-yeong was the detective who had found Da-on, promised to find J, and later adopted him. He comes back to the amusement park. Bit-na, now able to use her powers, frees herself from the handcuffs and charges towards Da-on. Just then, Da-on takes his phone which had the evidence, and smashes it on the ground.
He asks Bit-na to kill J for him. He wants to murder J and offers Bit-na to take his life after that. Bit-na, though happy at first, starts to tear up. Here episode 8 of The Judge from Hell ends.
