Disney+ delighted K-drama fans with a creative photoshoot featuring the cast of Light Shop. The photoshoot highlighted the growing scope of the Kang Full Cinematic Universe (KFCU), a burgeoning franchise based on the works of the popular webtoon writer.

Previously, in December 2023, Disney+ had a similar Christmas greeting photoshoot of the cast of its hit series, Moving—another webtoon by Kang Full.

Meanwhile, an important crossover in both photos included Kim Hee-won, who played a significant role in both series. This dual involvement cleverly reinforced the relationship between the two shows. Disney+ further confirmed the connection by releasing a reel on Instagram, blending scenes from both shows.

One fan took note of the crossover and wrote:

"The kang full cinematic universe"

Fans flooded social media and hailed both series as "masterpieces."

"Can't wait for other kang full's masterpieces in the future," one fan said.
"And what if at the end, they'd all do a joint photoshoot as Kang Full babies to introduce his cinematic universe?" another fan wrote.
"Kim Heewon as director and actor for Light Shop-Moving... Wow respect sir," one other fan noted.

Others called both cast lineups of the two shows "expensive" since both Disney+ series included big names from the South Korean industry such as Ju Ji-hoon, Zo In-sung, Park Bo-young, Kim Seol-hyun (aka Seolhyun), Go Youn-jung, and Lee Jung-ha, among others.

"The aura this cast have," a fan commented.
"Expensive after expensive cast," another fan remarked.
"Hit after hit DAMN," one other fan added.

Disney+ & Kang Full's Moving and Light Shop: A cameo that bridges the stories

Kang Full intentionally wove subtle ties between Moving and Light Shop, making them part of a larger interconnected narrative. One standout connection is a cameo by Hee-soo (played by Go Youn-jung) from Moving, who appeared in the post-credit scene of Light Shop episode 8.

Moving, based on Kang Full's hit webtoon, was an action-packed sci-fi series that followed a group of superpowered individuals—both teenagers and their parents—facing government conspiracies and danger. Led by stars like Ryu Seung-ryong, Han Hyo-joo, and Zo In-sung, the drama explored themes of family, loyalty, and sacrifice.

On the other hand, Light Shop, also adapted from Kang Full’s webtoon, was a mystery-thriller with a darker tone. The story revolved around a peculiar light shop ran by Jung Won-young (played by Ju Ji-hoon), located at the end of a desolate alley. This shop catered to both the living and the dead, offering its customers a chance to resolve unfinished business from their pasts.

The series also starred Park Bo-young as a compassionate nurse who interacted with the shop’s enigmatic visitors. While Moving emphasized explosive action, suspense, and familial bonds, the other K-drama delved into horror, drama, thriller, and the supernatural.

Both series shared Kang Full’s style of blending emotional depth with extraordinary circumstances, but they differ significantly in tone and execution. While Moving relied on dynamic action and superpowers, Light Shop adopted a quieter, introspective approach, focusing on human struggles and redemption.

Moving has already been confirmed for a second season, with fans eagerly awaiting updates on its release date. As for the other series, the eight-episode series wrapped up on December 18, 2024, with a satisfying yet open-ended conclusion. It's unclear whether the show will return for a second season as Disney+ has not officially announced a renewal.

The idea of the Kang Full Cinematic Universe has been gaining momentum as Disney+ invests heavily in adapting the writer’s works. With Moving paving the way and Light Shop further expanding the narrative world, fans can anticipate more crossovers and connections in future projects.

Disney+ already hinted at other potential adaptations of Kang Full’s webtoons, such as Timing and Bridge, which could add even more layers to the shared universe.
