Kang Ha-ri attempted to meet the wealthy real estate fraudster David Myeong in the previous episode. After much searching, Ha-ri tracked down Myeong at a remote spot, only to discover that he was actually subordinate to someone else. Jung Soo-min turned the tables on the con artist when she barged into Myeong's office and started a confrontation.

Soo-min invites Myeong to come with her in episode 7 of The Player 2: Master of Swindlers after she ends Ha-ri and Myeong's call. After pulling over to a secluded spot, she displays several bags containing twenty billion won worth of cash.

Soo-min hands over the cash to Myeong while acting as if she intends to betray her boss, Ha-ri. He thinks something is wrong, and he kidnaps her in The Player 2: Master of Swindlers.

Ha-ri is also brought to Myeong by his subordinate. Just so you know, Myeong has no idea who the con artist really is. To him, Ha-ri looks like another con artist in the corporate world. His threat to Ha-ri involving Soo-min is an explanation for his disbelief in Ha-ri's plans.

Myeong smells deceit even as Ha-ri tries to persuade him that the villa auction agreement is legitimate. He then gives the order for Ha-ri and Soo-min to be killed by his armed men. Thankfully, both the con artists' crew and prosecutor Do-soo show up promptly.

Shockingly, Do-soo arrests Ha-ri on fraud allegations instead of Myeong, baffling the swindlers' team. As far as anyone can tell, Ha-ri actually committed a rule violation with his team in The Player 2: Master of Swindlers.

Nevertheless, Ha-ri escapes and chases Myeong as Do-soo apprehends the remaining members of the squad. Do-soo is taken aback to hear that they report to the president after Soo-min allows the president to speak with him. The group quickly discovers Ha-ri's scheme and the reason behind his calculated risk-taking.

At the same time, Ha-ri manages to trick Myeong into his trap. It becomes clear to Myeong that he has been taken advantage of. At last, prosecutor Do-Soo figures out Ha-ri's plot and takes Myeong into custody.

But on his way to the police station, Myeong gets a call and he takes some medicine. He passes away just a short while later. As shown in the scene, Myeong was contacted by Jeffrey Jung.

Jeffrey Jung is a notorious drug dealer and gangster who was responsible for Ah-Ryung's death in the first episode. Her murder has been an ongoing target of Ha-ri and his gang's desire for revenge.

Meanwhile, Ha-ri is seen looking at the hidden cameras that allow President Choi Sang-ho to keep an eye on Ha-ri all the time. Lim Sang-sik, a new character, is introduced in Episode 7. He leads the "Almighty House of Truth" cult and deceives his followers.

Soo-min informs Ha-ri and his squad of their new objective. She describes Sang-sik's crimes and the fact that he is protected by other inmates. In addition to suggesting that the cult leader may be involved in organ trafficking and sexually abusing minors, Soo-min brings this up. Ha-ri makes his first move against his new target at the end of episode 7.

The villainous side of Sang-sik is shown at the start of Episode 8 of the Player 2: Master of Swindlers. He murders and brutally assaults a man who seeks to reveal his crimes to the world.

While Sang-sik is distracted, Ha-ri sets his trap in this episode of The Player 2: Master of Swindlers. He and Soo-Min go to a cult leader's function. On their way out, Sang-sik's subordinate learns that Ha-ri, masquerading as Kim Han-Joon, donated 500 million won to them. Because of this, the cult leader feels he needs to meet with Ha-ri, one-on-one.

The head of the House of Truth, Sang-sik, soon after extends an invitation to Ha-ri to join him. Ha-ri convinces Sang-sik saying that he adores him and wants to spend time with him.

Still, Sang-sik wants to know why Ha-ri is visiting him in South Korea all the way from the United States. Ha-ri asserts that cult leaders similar to Supreme Leader Lim (Sang-sik) do not exist in the US.

Even more evidence of Sang-sik's deception by Ha-ri appears in episode 8 of The Player 2: Master of Swindlers. Soo-min has already established herself as a disciple of Supreme Leader Lim, also known as Lim Sang-sik, while he becomes a member of the cult.

Ha-ri deceives the cult leader by bringing a phony customer, drawing him further into the trap. Ha-ri is invited to a private party by Sang-sik, who uses the opportunity to reward him by having him undress a young girl.

Fortunately, everyone passes out at just the right moment, sparing Ha-ri the ordeal. Soo-min shows up and says it was all part of their strategy. At the same time, a subordinate of Sang-sik investigates Ha-ri’s Han-joon disguise.

Things don't add up, which makes the subordinate dubious. The subordinate’s attempt to expose Ha-ri causes a chain reaction that culminates in the subordinate's suspension from duty.

Ha-ri eventually proves to be one of Sang-sik's most reliable employees, and Sang-sik labels him as a messenger. At the same time, Ha-ri's team finds out that the cult leader is planning to physically harm a little girl. Thankfully, Ha-ri and Soo-min activate the fire alarm and rescue her.

Soo-min diverts Sang-sik's attention away from determining the true culprit of the fake fire alarm near the conclusion of episode 8. Following this, Ha-ri tries and fails to rescue Soo-min from Sang-sik.

Soo-min is attacked by Sang-sik after he shuts the door to his chamber. Sang-sik demands that Soo-min divulge her real identity. He makes an effort to strangle her and tells her she must tell him the truth.

Soo-min tries to deflect attention by claiming she has a promising investment opportunity. She tries to persuade Sang-sik but is unsuccessful. Episode 8 of The Player 2: Master of Swindlers ends with Sang-sik strangling Soo-min.

It is yet to be seen how Ha-ri will save Soo-min from Sang-sik in the next episode of Player 2: Master of Swindlers.
