G-Dragon likes the post of Squid Game season 2 cast featuring former BigBang member T.O.P

The dailyfashion_news post, shared on December 9, 2024, featured additional snapshots from the highly anticipated Squid Game 2. The photos, originally released by Netflix Korea, offered an exciting preview of the upcoming season of Squid Game, showcasing a stellar cast.

The cast includes Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon, Gong Yoo, Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Park Gyu-young, Cho Yu-ri, Kang Ae-sim, Lee Da-yeon, Lee Jin-yun, Choi Seung-hyun, Noh Jae-won, and Won Ji-an. This post was liked by BigBang's leader G-Dragon.

Kwon Ji-yong, better known by his stage name G-Dragon, is a prominent South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur, often hailed as the "King of K-pop." Born and raised in Seoul, G-Dragon debuted in 2006 as the leader of BigBang, one of the most successful and influential boy bands in K-pop history.

The group, known for their musical innovation, self-production, and captivating stage presence, played a pivotal role in popularizing the Korean Wave globally. Initially debuting as a five-member group, BigBang included G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri.

Over time, the lineup changed, with Seungri retiring in 2019 and T.O.P. departing in 2023 to pursue personal endeavors. Today, the group continues as a trio comprising G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung.

Choi Seung-hyun, known by his stage name T.O.P, is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. Before joining YG Entertainment, he was active as an underground rapper.

In 2006, he debuted as BigBang’s lead rapper, earning acclaim for his deep voice, charismatic stage presence, and versatile artistry. During BigBang's hiatus in 2010, T.O.P collaborated with G-Dragon on the album GD & TOP, further showcasing their creative synergy.

T.O.P’s career was temporarily derailed by personal challenges during his mandatory military service. Enlisting as a conscripted police officer in February 2017, his service was disrupted in June of the same year when he faced charges of marijuana use. He admitted to using marijuana on four occasions in late 2016 during his first court appearance later that month.

The Seoul Central District Court sentenced him to a 10-month prison term, suspended for two years. Following the incident, he was reassigned from the police force to serve as a public service worker, completing his duties at the Yongsan Arts and Crafts Center in Seoul. His military service officially concluded on July 6, 2019.

In 2023, T.O.P parted ways with BigBang, expressing a desire to focus on self-reflection and personal growth. Despite the challenges faced by its members, BigBang remains celebrated as a trailblazing act in the K-pop industry, cementing its legacy as "Kings of K-pop."
