My Dearest Nemesis: Moon Ga-young and Choi Hyun-wook to reignite a 16-year-old love story
The first clip, released on January 21, shows Moon Ga-young's character from My Dearest Nemesis lying on a bed, reminiscing about her "first love." However, her tone shifts when an animated black dragon appears. She shoots the dragon with finger guns, which change to a real gun. The scenario changes, and standing up in a sharp suit while pointing the gun, she declares,
"My damn dark history. I see him in the new director, so I’m gonna dig into his double life."
In the second character teaser, Choi Hyun-wook is presented as Ban Joo-yeon, a third-generation chaebol with a double life. The clip begins with him casually brushing a figurine while wearing a T-shirt. The scene transitions to him in a sleek suit and glasses, sitting in a business meeting. His voiceover declares,
"A private life that is unnecessary for a successor who's supposed to be perfect. The meeting begins! I will prove perfectly qualified to be a successor."
My Dearest Nemesis, based on the webtoon He's a Black Dragon (그놈은 흑염룡) by Hye Jin Yang (혜진양), is an intriguing drama about two individuals who are unexpectedly brought together after 16 years.
Moon Ga-young stars as Baek Su-jeong, a no-nonsense team leader at Yongsung Department Store. Known for her assertiveness and remarkable work ethic, Su-jeong has earned the nickname "Executive Killer" for her fearless attitude toward workplace misconduct.
However, her orderly life is thrown into chaos when she crosses paths with Ban Joo-yeon, her new boss and the director of the strategic planning division. Choi Hyun-wook plays Ban Joo-yeon, the heir to Yongsung Department Store.
Sixteen years ago, Joo-yeon and Su-jeong met in an online game. Joo-yeon, using the ID "Black Salt Dragon," embodied his rebellious teenage years. Su-jeong, known as "Strawberry" in the game, became his first love. Despite his heartfelt confession, Su-jeong rejected him, leaving Joo-yeon heartbroken and their bond fractured.
Now, as their professional lives intertwine, unresolved emotions and past grievances resurface, reigniting the tension and nostalgia of their shared history. The drama explores their journey as they navigate this complicated relationship, oscillating between animosity and lingering affection.
The cast of My Dearest Nemesis also includes Im Se-mi as Seo Ha-jin, a carefree bar owner and Su-jeong’s close confidant, and Kwak Si-yang as Kim Shin-won, the talented head of the design department. Ban Hyo-jung takes on the role of Jeong Hyosun, Joo-yeon’s formidable grandmother, while Go Chang-seok portrays Baek Su-jeong’s supportive father.
Helmed by director Lee Soo-hyun and penned by writer Kim Soo-yeon, the 16-episode series will air every Monday and Tuesday on tvN, with each episode running for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
The teasers have sparked high expectations, with viewers eagerly counting down to the February 17 premiere.
