In a recent accolade that ignited discussions across the music industry MusicMan UK, a renowned music publication, lauded BTS' Jungkook. The publication drew parallels between the BTS idol's live performance prowess and that of the legendary Michael Jackson.

On January 17, 2025, the publication wrote in its latest issue,

"If there's one man alive today who can hold a candle to Michael Jackson in the live performance department, it's definitely Jungkook."

The comparison to Michael Jackson by MusicMan UK elicited enthusiastic responses from fans worldwide. Social media platforms were abuzz with discussions, with many expressing pride in the Standing Next To You singer's accomplishments and agreeing with the parallels drawn.

One fan tweeted,

Fans filled social media platforms, echoing MusicMan UK's sentiments.

Following BTS' announcement in 2022 to allow members to pursue individual projects, Jungkook embarked on a series of solo endeavors that showcased his versatility and global appeal.

In June 2022, he collaborated with American singer Charlie Puth on the single Left and Right, which achieved significant commercial success worldwide. In November 2022, the BTS idol performed Dreamers at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Qatar, marking a historic moment as the first Korean artist to perform at the event.

Released in July 2023, Seven marked the BTS singer's official solo debut. The track, featuring American rapper Latto, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Global 200 charts, setting multiple Guinness World Records.

The track also stayed at No. 1 on the Hot 100 for seven weeks straight—a historic record in both Billboard and the K-pop music industry, making him the first K-pop solo act to achieve this feat.

In September 2023, Jungkook released 3D, a collaboration with American rapper Jack Harlow. The track topped the Billboard Global 200 with over 104.3 million streams. Meanwhile, on November 3, 2023, Jungkook unveiled his debut solo album, GOLDEN. The 11-track album encapsulates the "golden moments" of his journey as a solo artist, featuring previously released hits like Seven and 3D.

In other news, BTS' Jungkook enlisted in the military on December 12, 2023, and will be officially relieved of his duties on June 10, 2025.
