On October 7, 2024, a netizen on the Korean online forum Instiz claimed that ADOR CEO Kim Joo-young cried in front of NewJeans and their parents during a meeting on September 23. The netizen claimed that the parents were baffled to see Kim Joo-young getting emotional. Additionally, as per the claims, one of the NewJeans members broke down in tears and said,
"Why are you making us into bad guys?"
For the unversed, HYBE has been in a feud with former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin since April 2024. She reportedly tried to take over ADOR from HYBE and tried leaking business secrets to third parties. The ADOR board fired Min Hee-jin on August 27, and Kim Joo-young was appointed the new CEO. NewJeans was displeased with the decision and rebelled.
It is important to note that the story's authenticity is yet to be determined. However, the post went viral on Instiz and on X, where fans of the girl group criticized the new ADOR CEO for lack of professionalism. They accused her of "gaslighting" and "guilt-tripping" the girl group members.

However, several netizens countered these allegations and highlighted that NewJeans' parents should stop getting involved in company matters. Some even claimed that the "parents are lying or redirecting" the narrative.

NewJeans' Hanni's mother accuses ADOR CEO Kim Joo-young of deleting CCTV footage
On October 7, 2024, Daily Sports reported that NewJeans' Hanni's mother accused ADOR CEO Kim Joo-young of deleting the CCTV footage of Hanni being mistreated by another girl group's manager.
Earlier, on September 11, 2024, NewJeans held an unauthorized YouTube livestream. Hanni claimed that she greeted a manager and the members of another HYBE girl group, but the manager told the group to "ignore" Hanni. Hanni claimed she had complained to Kim Joo-young, but the latter said that Hanni should have informed her earlier.
As per Daily Sports, Hanni's mother claimed that the incident happened in May 2024 when Min Hee-jin was ADOR's CEO. Hanni's mother said she reported the matter in June 2024, but ADOR didn't take any action.
"It’s already been four months since the incident happened. I raised the issue in June, but there was no sign of a solution, and only belatedly did they say they would check the CCTV. At first, I didn’t understand why they wanted to check the CCTV because the voice couldn’t be recorded on the CCTV. Wouldn’t it be better to just meet with Hanni and interview the person in question?," Hanni's mother said.
It is important to note that Min Hee-jin was still the CEO of ADOR till August 27, 2024.
Daily Sports reported that ADOR's board went through a month's worth of CCTV footage and asked Belift Lab (HYBE subsidiary label) to check their CCTV footage. This stemmed from the claim that NewJeans named Belift Lab's girl group, ILLIT, and its manager in the incident. However, Kim Joo-young informed the parents that no CCTV had been found.
The current ADOR CEO claimed that all CCTV footage showed Hanni greeting the girl group and its manager, and the latter reciprocated the gesture. However, Hanni's mother claimed that Kim Joo-young had told them that all other CCTV footage had been automatically deleted before the specific date since it was over five months old.
In other news, Min Hee-jin has filed an injunction to call an emergency shareholders' meeting on October 11, 2024, to get reappointed as ADOR's CEO.
