Unmasked, starring Kim Hye-soo, Jung Sung-il, Jung Jong-hyuk, and more aired episodes 3 and 4 on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, on Disney+. Unmasked episode 3 depicted news about an elementary school student Jo Min-geun being kidnapped where the suspect was the psychopath middle school boy Son Jun-yeong, aka Go-eo (Moon Woo-jin). Oh So-ryong learned that Son Jun-yeong may be the boy the old man mentioned.

The police found some evidence at Son Jun-yeong's house despite his mother protesting that he would not do something as such. Oh So-ryong, Han Do, and Kang Gi-ho rushed to the old man’s house and found out that someone set it on fire. Son Jun-yeong was rescued from the old man’s place as he appeared to be stabbed yelling for help, while the old man passed away.

Han Do was taken aback and blamed himself for the old man's death and passed out. Oh So-ryong and Kang Gi-ho took him to the hospital and the doctor informed him that he was alright but may be shocked due to the incident.

As Unmasked progressed, Oh So-ryong learned about Lee Yu-mi's case in which she attempted to murder her father. Oh So-ryong tried to convince her to let Trigger broadcast her story but she did not wish to do so. However, Han Do dropped her a note written by her mother, which made her want the world to know her story.

Unmasked ep 3-4 recap: Oh So-ryong faces a personal crisis while Han Do is promoted to the position of main PD

In Unmasked episode 3, police found Jo Min-geun’s body without his eyes in a suitcase in Son Jun-yeong’s building. Han Do heard nurses conversing about Son Jun-yeong's case, and with their help, he entered his room in the hospital. Han Do got Son Jun-yeong to indirectly admit his crimes on a hidden camera. However, it was not enough.

On the other hand, Oh So-ryong searched for the camera she had placed at the old man's house for Trigger. As soon as she saw the camera, the detective in charge arrived. Oh So-ryong and the detective made a deal to retrieve the footage together, and in exchange, the detective would give Oh So-ryong the travel log of Cho Hae-won.

The footage was retrieved with the audio, where Son Jun-yeong is seen forcing the old man to stab him and staging a self-defense act by stabbing him multiple times. The old man was trying to reach out for something and Oh So-ryong believed it was Jo Min-geun’s eyeballs. Kang Gi-ho secured an interview with Jo Min-geun's parents but as Han Do had an unfortunate argument with Jo Min-geun's mother, she refused to give an interview for Trigger.

By the end of Unmasked episode 3, it was revealed that Son Jun-yeong had killed his differently abled sibling when he was young, and his mother concealed his crimes. Jo Min-geun's eyes were found in the old man's hand, which he had kept intact while his body burnt.

As the Trigger episode about Son Jun-yeong was aired, both he and his mother were arrested. Unmasked episode 3 closed with Dr. Trigger unveiling a nude image of Oh So-ryong on an online forum.

In Unmasked episode 4, Oh So-ryong was surrounded by the press outside KNS, trying to get in by avoiding them. Soon, Han Do came and helped her get inside. It was shown that the picture was taken by her boyfriend Hwang Jin-woo, who recently proposed to her. Hwang Jin-woo had cheated on Oh So-ryong with a colleague named Ye-rim and confronted her, thinking she uploaded it. However, Ye-rim stated that it was not her.

Oh So-ryong met Cho Hae-won, the last witness of Cha Seong-wook before he went missing 20 years ago. Cho Hae-won was Cha Seong-wook's girlfriend, and before giving a tip to Oh So-ryong, she asked them to sign an NDA. Cho Hae-won revealed that she saw a woman leaving the hotel room before she went inside. Notably, Cha Seong-wook was a rising star while Cho Hae-won belonged to a family that owned a huge business group.

KNS president Koo learned that Cho Hae-won had returned and told current affairs manager Son Hui-won to leave Oh So-ryong alone. He knew that whoever got involved with Cho Hae-won was never seen in this field again. President Koo held an audit to unveil Dr. Trigger's identity. He interrogated Trigger Program team members by asking them inappropriate questions.

In this Unmasked episode, Oh So-ryong learned Lee Yu-mi's story through Lawyer Choi. Lee Yu-mi was s*xually and physically assaulted by her father since she was six to 14 years old. Her father also tortured his mother and cut her tongue once for a minor mistake she made. Lee Yu-mi’s father was a high-ranking prosecutor.

Lawyer Choi informed that the prosecution was demanding a strict sentence for Lee Yu-mi as she attempted murder. Notably, she revealed that Lee Yu-mi found out her father was alive, and she decided to take whatever sentence and pass away as quickly as possible.

Oh So-ryong met Lee Yu-mi and tried convincing her by asking her for advice on her leaked nude incident, which was by her boyfriend. Lee Yu-mi didn't want to do a Trigger broadcast but she advised Oh So-ryong to break up with her boyfriend and be safe while doing so.

Oh So-ryong and Han Do visited the hospital where Lee Yu-mi’s mother was tending to her father. But, her mother asked them to leave. Han Do was unaware of what happened to Lee Yu-mi, and after learning, he was furious. Meanwhile, in this Unmasked episode, Park Dae-young, the chief of the Trigger Program met her former senior colleague who worked for the program to learn more about Cha Seong-wook’s missing case.

His senior told him that they worked on the case with a certain person “B,” but the broadcast was canceled minutes before airing as B went AWOL with the tape. He said that B still worked at KNS Media and asked whether he still collected condoms. The next scene showcased President Koo opening a drawer in his office, which was full of condoms.

Han Do confronted Lee Yu-mi’s mother as he could not see her suffer unjustly. Lee Yu-mi wrote a note that said she was tending to her father because if he died, Lee Yu-mi would become a murderer. Lee Yu-mi’s mother didn't want her daughter to be labeled a murderer.

As the Unmasked episode moved forward, Oh So-ryong met Lee Yu-mi again and informed her she broke up with her boyfriend safely. Hwang Jin-woo also resigned from KNS Media. Lee Yu-mi thanked Oh So-ryong for the shoes and told her the reason why she tried killing her father.

Lee Yu-mi was pregnant and had to take leave from school to give birth to the child. As the child was born, her father murdered the child whilst the birthing process was not concluded.

That was when Lee Yu-mi realized that she would only be able to escape the vicious cycle by killing her father. Lee Yu-mi also agreed to do the broadcast for her mother. Han Do delivered a note to Lee Yu-mi that said that her mother did not want her to become a murderer, and this changed her mind.

As Oh So-ryong departed the detention center started pouring and she lost her umbrella to the strong wind. Han Do, who had just arrived at the center, offered his umbrella, revealing that Lee Yu-mi’s father had died. Oh So-ryong rejoiced as Lee Yu-mi was finally freed.

Unmasked episode 4 concluded with a scene where Oh So-ryong was inside a car and Ham Do stepped out to buy medicines. The car was not far from a building that had just collapsed. It is yet to be seen whether Oh So-ryong and Han Do are safe or trapped under the building.
