1. Serendipity’s Embrace
The upcoming Korean drama from tvN is based on the Naver webtoon of the same name and stars Kim So-hyun, Chae Jong-hyeop, and Yoon Ji-hun, amongst others.
Song Hyun-wook directed the series. The series will depict the story of Lee Jong-ki (Kim So-hyun), an animation producer emotionally scarred by her first heartbreak in high school.
She reunites with her high school crush, Hu Yeong (Chae Jung-hyop), in a cafe and struggles to come to terms with her feelings for him. The story explores the emotional struggles between the main characters and how they overcome their past to give romance a fresh start.
The romance series premieres on July 22, 2024.
2. Jeong Nyeon
Jeong Nyeon stars Kim Tae-ri, Ra Mi-ran, Moon So-ri, and Shin Ye-eun. Choi Hyo-bi wrote the series.
The coming-of-age story is set in the 50s' during the post-Korea War era. The story revolves around a girl, Yoon Jeong-nyeon (Kim Tae-ri), and her dream of becoming an actress at the Maeran Theatre Company in Seoul.
As the drama unfolds, Yoon Jeong-nyeon gets into the theatre company and has to prove herself worthy of becoming the performer she hopes to be, meeting another trainee, Heo Young-seo (Shin Ye-eon), who becomes her biggest competition.
This musical Korean drama, directed by Jung Ji-in, is expected to be released in October 2024.
3. Parole Officer, Lee Han Shin
This crime series was directed by Yoon Sang-ho directed and stars Go Soo, alongside the Girls' Generation member Kwon Yu-ri.
Parole Officer, Lee Han Shin is based on the story of a Parole officer, Lee Han shin (Go Soo), whose quest for justice and revenge plays a crucial role in his responsibility of determining whether prisoners on parole are released or not.
This K-drama's theme is revenge, morality, and justice. This tvN series written by Park Chi-hyeong is set to air on October 7, 2024.
4. No Gain No Love
This upcoming Korean drama, which stars Shin Min-a and Kim Young-dae, tells the story of a lady, Son Hae-young (Shin Min-a), who fakes a wedding with a Convenience store cashier, Kim Ji-wook (Kim Young-dae), to secure a job promotion offer.
As the story unfolds, what was once a business arrangement between the two individuals becomes genuine. The drama was written by Kim Hye-young and directed by Kim Jung-sik.
No Gain No Love is expected to be released on August 26, 2024.
5. Love Next Door
Love Next Door stars Jung So-min, Jung Hae-in, Yun Ji-on, Kim Ji-eun, Park Ji-young, Jang Young-nam, Jo Han-chul, Lee Seung-joon, and Han Ye-joo, amongst others.
This Korean series, directed by Yoo Je-won, is based on the love story between two childhood friends, Choi Seung-hyo (Jung Hae-in), a renowned Architect, and unemployed Bae Seok-ryu (Jung So-min), who deals with the aftermath of her shameful past. The romance story reflects how Bae Seok-ryu struggles to prevent her horrible past from getting in between her relationship with Choi Seung-hyo.
The upcoming Korean drama, written by Shin Ha-eun, will air on August 17, 2024.
6. Wong Yeong
This historical drama was directed by Kim Sango-ho, and stars The Glory actress, Cha Joo-young, alongside Lee Hyun-wook, Lee Sung-min, Lee Yi-dam, and others.
This upcoming drama series written by Lee Young-mi takes place in the Joseon period, where a kingmaker, Won Kyung (Cha Joo-young), helps her husband, Prince Jeongan (Lee Hyun-wook), to secure the kingship title against all odds from his father, King Taejo (Lee Sung-min).
After Jeongan becomes king of the Joseon dynasty, his relationship with Won Kyung deteriorates when he begins to have concubines. Jeongan will have to do everything he can to win Won Kyung and her family's trust in order to secure his crown.
Wong Yeong is expected to be released in December 2024.
7. Love on a Single Log Bridge
This upcoming Korean drama, scheduled for release in December 2024, is directed by the Alchemy of Souls director, Park Joon-hwa, and written by Kim Ye-jin. The highly anticipated series features The Kingdom star, Ju Ji-hoon, and the Train to Busan actress Jung Yu-mi.
Love on a Single Log Bridge circles around two lovers, Yoon Ji-won (Jung Yu-mi) and Seok Ji-won (Ju Ji-hoon), who grow apart based on disputes between both of their families. 15 years later, they get reunited, and this time, their love for each other is stronger than before, and they are willing to fight for it.
