On November 4, 2024, BIGHIT MUSIC dropped a new visual clip of BTS' Kim Seokjin's forthcoming album, Happy. The clip showed the Grammy-nominated artist driving a vintage convertible with a Border Collie pup. He was seen petting the puppy as black and white montages of seven balloons filled the screen along with the background score of melancholic windchimes.

The visual clip instantly reminded astute fans of BTS' beloved Most Beautiful Moment in Life album trilogy or Youth Trilogy. The album is also known as Hwa Yong Yeon Hwa aka HYYH. The trilogy is a coming-of-age story of seven boys who face difficulties and tragedy and transcend from infancy to maturity.

The BTS fanbase drew parallels between Jin's Happy visual clip and HYYH where BTS member Suga was also seen petting a Border Collie pup. Additionally, Jin's Happy concept clip released on October 19 included a music sheet containing lyrics of Spring Day from HYYH.

Furthermore, the melancholic sound of the wind chimes made fans speculate the same. One ARMY wrote on X:

"This is it. We're getting HYYH"

Several fans shared their theories, wondering if the BTS singer created his solo album Happy in a way to "lose the door on HYYH." A few fans discussed how the wind chimes reminded them of HYYH and speculated if Jin's Happy would be the alternate universe he created for himself which he couldn't find in HYYH.

"We're sticking with hyyh theories," one fan wrote.
"Maybe in Happy he will get the happy ending which he didn’t get in HYYH. Maybe he created this album to close the door on HYYH where he tried to save his brothers but couldn’t. Omg I’m in pain!" another fan wrote.
"The wind chimes is reminding me of HYYH so much. What if HAPPY is all about Jin coming to terms with HYYH? Maybe it’s his way of rewriting his past where he was happy and his dreams were fulfilled which never happened in HYYH." one other fan added.

Others talked about how they hope to get a "happy" ending in Jin's new upcoming album, which is set to be released on November 15, 2024.

"Are we getting HAPPY ending of HYYH??" one fan said.
"U guys will never let me get over with hyyh," another fan wrote.
"Hyyh & happy I don't want the same ending though," one other fan added.

BTS' most ambitious project to date—Most Beautiful Moment in Life album trilogy

Most Beautiful Moment in Life trilogy or HYYH was released in three parts where the first segment was released on April 17, 2015, and was wrapped up on April 19, 2016, with the release of the Young Forever: Epilogue music video.

The three parts are Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt. 1, Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt. 2, and Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever.

The album focused on seven boys who come from dysfunctional families and have mental illnesses and find a safe haven in each other. In the original storyline, Jin fails to save his members from tragic deaths. The album was also adapted into a K-drama, Begin Youth, which was released in April 2024.

The K-drama named the seven lead characters' names after BTS' popular webtoon characters from 7FATES: CHAKHO — Hwan (Jin), Cein (Suga), Hosu (J-hope), Dogeon (Namjoon), Haru (Jimin), Jooan (Taehyung), and Jeha (Jungkook). The K-drama was produced by HYBE and was aired on the Xclusive OTT platform.

In other news, BTS' Namjoon, Jimin, Jungkook, Suga, and Taehyung are serving in the military and will come back in June 2025. BTS' J-hope was discharged on October 17, 2024, and Jin was discharged from the military on June 12, 2024.
