On September 25, 2024, HYBE and ADOR's board of directors responded to NewJeans' demands to reinstate Min Hee-jin as ADOR's CEO. The board essentially turned down the request, however, they offered Min Hee-jin the role of producing NewJeans for the remainder of the group's contract. This offer was previously made to her on August 27, when ADOR fired her from the CEO position.

Newsis reported that a temporary shareholders' meeting to re-elect Min Hee-jin as an inside director was held on September 25, 2024. After the meeting concluded, Min Hee-jin's representatives issued a statement accusing HYBE (parent company of ADOR) of media play and demanding Min Hee-jin's reappointment. They said,

"Min Hee-jin is wary that extending her term under a flawed contract could jeopardize NewJeans' normal artist activities. Thus, Min has clearly expressed her desire to return as CEO and requested specific contractual terms that reflect HYBE's sincerity. We strongly demand Min Hee-jin's return to the CEO position for the benefit of the artists' performance."

They explained that the parent company only extended the contract's duration without removing the alleged toxic clauses, like the right to unilaterally terminate it. Min Hee-jin's legal team said she expressed concern that she wouldn't be able to guarantee NewJeans' regular activities if she isn't reappointed as ADOR's CEO.

ADOR's board and HYBE rejects Min Hee-jin's appointment as CEO but extends her contract for producing NewJeans

On August 27, 2024, HYBE appointed Kim Joo-young as the new CEO of ADOR. She was formerly HYBE's Chief Human Resources Officer. This resulted from a long ongoing feud between the corporation and ADOR's former CEO, Min Hee-jin, when she was accused of breach of trust and leaking company secrets.

Consequently, Min Hee-jin lost her managerial privileges following a shareholders' meeting on May 30, 2024. Although the parent company couldn't vote to dismiss her as the CEO back then, the corporation replaced the ADOR board of directors to ensure the label's smooth operation.

Later, after months of working alongside Min Hee-jin, ADOR's independent board of directors fired her as the label's CEO and brought in Kim Joo-young on August 27. Meanwhile, on September 25, 2024, during the emergency shareholders' meeting, ADOR rejected her demands to reinstate her as the CEO.

"The Adore board of directors discussed today's request for reinstatement as CEO as it is currently unacceptable. Since the basic guarantees regarding the status, period, and authority as the PD in charge of producing New Jeans have been made, we expect that negotiations will take place regarding specific conditions in the future."

The new modification in the offer means that, as per Min Hee-jin's contract, she would be able to produce for NewJeans for at least 5 years. Notably, NewJeans still has 5 more years on their contract under HYBE.

Meanwhile, Min Hee-jin's representatives stated that she refused to sign the new deal presented to her on September 25. Former ADOR CEO plans on continuing with her injunction to call another shareholders' meeting to discuss her reinstatement as the label's CEO. She had filed an injunction on September 12.
